Question about West Bend Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines

Open Question

Old coffee maker parts

Can you believe I accidentally trashed the basket and stem (the inner parts) of the old West Bend Party Perk coffee pot (12-22 cup, Cat.No. 58122, 60 watts, 120 volts)? You know, those old tan with brown stripes plastic coffee pots that many grandmas used at family get togethers? Any recommendations on where I can possibly find replacements for the lost parts or even an old style pot with the inner parts still inside? P.S. Tried directly to the West Bend Company, but, so far, no luck.

(Yes, I borrowed it from someone's grandmother and now I'm trying to make good on my dumb mistake.) Looking forward to hearing from you - please contact me at

Where can I replacement filters for a 100 cup West Bend coffee maker?

The West Bend Large Capacity Coffemakers do not use replacement filters. The manual for the West Bend 33600 Large Coffee Urn is available here:

Use an electric perk or regular grind coffee in the percolator basket rather than a 'drip' or finely ground coffee that would require a filter.

If you require a new basket, please see the West Bend on-line replacement part site here:

After it's very first use, and it was for heating plain water only, the basket has large blackened (actually dark grey) areas and spatter patterns, and the floor of the urn around the spout is blackened. ...

I read your question but I am slightly confused... I see that you use it to heat water only, I presume that it is for tea or hot choc. Since you say it is new... Have you always used the perkolator parts? This unit is not designed to work without these parts. There is a thermocouple that helps regulate the water temperature, If the perk parts (the basket and the rod placed correctly in the bottom heating element) there is a good chance that is causing a problem. Try 1/2 pot of water and the parts I mentioned in place (as if you were going to perk coffee) and try it again, I think it will heat correctly and give you satifactory results. As far as the "blackening" it maybe "Brillo'ed or SOS pads to clean unless you have the plastic basket, the metal parts can be scrubbed. I hope I have understood your question correctly. Good Luck!
