Hi, on my webcam Touchmate TM-cam300ml is written that it has built-in microfone, but it doesnt work. I mean nobody can hear me, when I speak((( may be you know any solution?

Web Camera's have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype

http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/

set it up as follows:
Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera, if Installed Properly, it will come up and show a video picture.
Then, on the bottom of the page click save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and hear you.

B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger

http://www.soft32.com/download_30.HTML

set it up as follows:
Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on "Open the call setup assistant" and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

http://download.live.com/Messenger

After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on " "Show Menus." And then click on "Show the Menu Bar".
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on " "Action."
Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

D. AIM (AOL) Messenger:

http://dashboard.aim.com/aim

On the VIM sign-in window click on Edit.
Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
Next click on Enhanced IM.
Then click on Audio Video.
The Audio and Video portion has drop downs so you can select the proper audio card and video camera installed in you computer.
The Audi Video drop downs are
Microphone
Speaker
Camera
The audio and camera should function now.
Additional information to use with VIM settings.
Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings:
In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently
Participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM
Conversation before running setup. Would you like to disconnect now? Click the Yes button.
2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working
Properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Notes:
The first time you use AOL Live Video IM, a message will display: Would you like to first check your audio and video settings? Click the Yes button.
The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly.
Follow the on-screen prompts.
images in AOL Live Video IM may appear reversed, or as a mirror image (text may appear backwards) when you look at your own camera feed or at the
Picture-in-picture (PIP) display.
After making the settings your ready for a chat and video talk with your Family and Friends.
Hope this helps. Bud

Microphone not picking up the voice

In order to use another microphone other than the built in microphone on a Logitech web camera, you will need to configure the new microphone to be your system's default microphone.

To change the default microphone in Windows:
  1. Click "Start," "Settings," and "Control Panel."
  2. Open the applet that corresponds to your operating system.
    1. Windows 98 users, double click on "Multimedia."
    2. Windows Me and Windows 2000 users, double click on "Sounds and Multimedia."
    3. Windows XP users, double click on "Sound and Audio Devices"
  3. Click the Audio tab.
  4. Set the microphone to the sound card in the drop down box that is appropriate for your operating system.
    1. Windows 98 and Me users, click on the Preferred Device for Recording box.
    2. Windows XP and Windows 2000, click on the Default Device box under Sound Recording.
If you are using the built in mic, open the Quickcam 11.5 software and adjust Audio Settings.
The Audio Settings provide access to device selection, basic audio levels, and AEC.
  • Select Microphone– Allows you to select desired microphone for video calling and video recording applications.
  • Volume indicator – Indicates the current input volume level..
  • Adjust Recording Volume – Toggles input volume level.
  • Cancel Echo – Enables or disables AEC for RightLight and RightLight 2 supported cameras.
  • Select Speakers – Allows you to select desired speaker source for video calling and recording applications.
  • Audio Tuning Wizard – Launches the Audio Tuning Wizard
If all this fails, it could indicate a problem with your soundcard. Try using some speakers or another mic and see if they work. If they don't, you card is faulty. Remenber to set up your mic in the volume properties. On the lower right hand of the screen, you should see a volume icon. Right click and select open volume control. Select Options and the Properties. Select Recording and check all boxes below. Close that window and now make sure Mic level is max and not muted.

Hope that helps!

Video sound problem

Durring video conferencing with MSN Messenger, I can't hear my friend and he can't hear me. Or I can hear them but they can't hear me. What's wrong? trnsp.gif Answer This article applies to the following products:
All Logitech Web Cameras with MSN Messenger Support
This article applies to the following software:
Windows XP
Test the Microphone in Sound Recorder

  1. Click "Start," > "Programs" ("All Programs" for Windows XP) > "Accessories" > "Entertainment" > "Sound Recorder."
  2. Click the Record button and speak into the microphone of the camera. You should see the green line move, indicating the application is picking up sound.
  3. Click the Stop button.
  4. Click the Play button. If there is no sound at playback, check to make sure the correct device is selected.
    1. Click "Edit," then "Audio Properties."
    2. Make sure Logitech is listed as the Preferred device for "Sound recording."
If the microphone does not work in Sound Recorder, click here for help in determining the problem with the mic.
While using MSN Messenger it is the messenger program, not the camera software, that negotiates the audio streams between two MSN Messenger Clients. Although we cannot directly support audio issues in MSN Messenger, the following steps have been known to resolve and improve audio issues in MSN Messenger. For further information, please consult the help documents associated with MSN Messenger.
Test Your Networking Router
You can also test to see if your router is causing audio issues by either physically bypassing your router and connecting directly to your cable/DSL modem or by setting up your computer as the DMZ (de-militarized zone). If you are a novice networking user, it is not recommended that you leave your computer in the DMZ state for extended period as that may leave your computer vulnerable to attack. However, you may briefly configure your computer as the DMZ to determine if your network settings are causing the audio issues. For DMZ setup instructions, please consult your router's documentation.
Enable Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) on both Windows XP and Your Router.
If either of the above steps resolves the no audio problem, try the following steps.
  1. Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. To open Add or Remove Programs, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
  3. In the Components list, select the Networking Services check box, and then click Details.
  4. Make sure the Universal Plug and Play box is checked.
Notes: If you used a CD to set up Windows, you will be prompted to insert it into your computer.
If your router does not support UPnP or you still get no audio after enabling UPnP on both Windows XP and your router, you must manually open all UDP ports between 5004 and 65535. This is because the audio streams are sent dynamically using that range of ports. Without a dynamic way to open those ports like UPnP, there is no way for MSN Messenger to successfully negotiate the audio stream. Consult your router's documentation for instructions to manually open these required ports.
If you are still experiencing audio issues within MSN Messenger, and you have verified that the microphone is working in Sound Recorder, contact MSN Messenger Support.

This article covers Accoustic Echo Canncellation (AEC) and how it works.
trnsp.gif Answer This article applies to the following products:
QuickCam 10.x and RightSound supported cameras
QuickCam 11.x and RightSound supported cameras
Call Central and RightSound support audio devices
This article applies to the following platforms:
Windows® 2000 Professional
Windows® XP Professional
Windows® XP Home
Windows® Media Center Home
Windows® Vista
Accoustic EchoCancellation (AEC)'s purpose is to prevent sounds from your computer's speakers to be picked up by your microphone. This can be a significant problem with audio or video calling applications where the voices or sounds from other parties of the call is being inadvertently picked up by the microphone and fed back into the call, creating echo and other sound distortions. Without AEC, this echo can detract from the quality of a call and in extreme situations, the echo can degrade the audio experience to the point where the audio is useless.
To prevent this from happening, the AEC component monitors sounds being played by your computer's speakers while monitoring the incoming sound picked up by your computer's microphone. The AEC module takes the outgoing and incoming sound signals and compares them to determine if echo is present. If echo is found, it is subtracted before the audio from the microphone is sent to the requesting application. This will result in the remote party only hearing you speak, without being distracted by hearing their own voice echo back to them.
When enabled, echo is eliminated for the recipient of the audio/video message. For echo free chatting, both parties need to have a RightSound technology enabled web camera that supports the AEC feature.
