Question about Krups Bravo Plus 872 Espresso Machine

1 Answer

I believe is need a new gasket for where the filter cup meets the espresso maker. I am not getting the same pressure when making coffee. It is a Krups 871 model

I'm having the same problem. It seems like the cover that you put over the water reservoir is leaking and that perhaps a new gasket is needed. All I get is a bunch of steam coming out of the top and maybe a tablespoon of espresso. My handyman guy thinks that I should replace the whole filter top- not just the gasket. I don't know why I would need to replace the entire cover but I'll probably just do it. It's still cheaper than getting a new machine.

Hi,
I have a #872 model. It is very similar to the #871.
Where the gasket is there is a small metal filter too, attached by a screw.
UNPLUG your coffemaker!!!
If you unscrew the filter and remove it with the gasket most likely you are going to find the other side of it clogged by coffee. Wash it off and wash the gasket well too with dishwashing soap. Rinse them off well.
You should try to clean off the coffemaker part to where the gasket lays. Usually it is full of burnt of coffee.
If there is no other problem with your coffemaker this should solve your problem.

K-Cups disappointing

I had same problem and called Keurig. They advised me that the gasket in the upper portion, where the top needle is needs to be brought down about half way, almost even with the bottom of the top needle. Be careful not to poke yourself. I brewed a cup with the resuable filter assembly and it worked great. It should stay in that position until you use an actual k-cup. When using it will push the gasket back up, as it needs pressure to puncture the hole. To go back to the resuable filter, you will need to lower the gasket again. She advised me that they are working on a fix for this issue and will notify you of any replacement parts, as long as they have your current contact info.

Krups XP2070 coffee machine - new - espresso side - water goes straight into the drip tray & not thru the filter. I have the exact same problem-that's why I'm on here looking for a solution!

You either have a blocked filter or defective valves. Try the unit without the filter to see if you get liquid out of the group. Most likely you have defective pressure valves (pair) which are not too expensiv to replace.

Weak coffee is the result of brew

Since it is "brand new out of the box" check for plastic burs (pieces of plastic improperly hanging around
openings along flow of water) throughout unit, and use more coffee than recommended for your taste of
what a good cup of coffee should taste like, since that varies from individual to individual. If you are using
packets, try using TWO. Experiment, Experiment...........

Espresso irregularly spurts out the center post

It IS the gasket!!!!! Store the pot with the two parts screwed TIGHTLY together for about a week. Tighten it up as the new gasket compresses. Problem solved in two weeks or less. Funnel had NOTHING to do with my problem. Also cook on medium to low heat. High flame seems to make the problem worse.

This will most likely happen when the pressure valves become defective. Replacing the two valves (they come in pairs) should fix the problem.

I just had this same problem and after reading this blog I went downstairs, tightened the pot down more and it worked! I usually don't tighten it this much, but will continue to tighten it down hard until the gasket is broken in. Thank you sooooooo much!!!

You can find ODC325s on ebay just for parts since the heating element is shot. I don't believe those parts are for sale anymore.
