Hi,

There are two ways you can get this error,
I am giving the examples...

ERROR Ox8OOCCCOE
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Talk21',
Server: 'out.talk21.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

GET THIS WHEN USING WRONG DIALLER
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Talk21',
Server: 'pop3.in.Talk21', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

So i want you to make sure these things,

Are your outlook account settings correct?
when you say you cant get online is it just your email or is it your internet as well?
If its just your email, i would suggest your account settings may not be correct.

IMPORTANT:
This is one peculiar reason ,
If you have downloaded any recent updates,( it may be either from MICROSOFT), that may could cause this problem too.
Try sending Email by turning off the WINDOWS FIREWALL.
If it works, then the update to the wirewall could have caused that problem.(you can use ZONE ALARM instead of WINDOWS FIREWALL).

But first make sure that all your account settings and your password are correct.

Hope my info solves your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
Cheers.

If your settings are correct, try changing your password. That is the
most common fix for this error.

    they provide POP3

or IMAP support, they should be knowledgeable about how to set up your

account in Outlook Express so that it will work for you. If you are still

getting the same errors about passwords, it could be that the Protected

Stores files may be damaged on your computer. Depending on your operating

system, see if this link helps repair any problem there:

Try creating a new identity, then open Outlook Express in that identity and

create the account in that new identity and test it. It may be that your

existing identity is corrupted, particularly if it is the "Main Identity"

created with an initial install of Outlook Express

OX8OOCCCOE means that OUTLOOK failed contacting your email server.

Configuring your email client (OUTLOOK) needs assistance from your ISP tech support as the information such as the name of the email server is required.

The error 0x800ccc0e is shorthand for "failed to connect." It can indicate

a busy server (one with too many connections to handle your request) or just

an offline server. Usually trying again 15-30 minutes later will solve the

problem. Might want to consider finding another ISP with better servicing

abilities.

Hi,

Checking mail at a "slow time" of the day would probably end in success, where checking mail during busier 'peak' hours would result in this failure. Is this a pattern you also see?The below quote from an MS advisor is from: http://www.mcse.ms/message909637.html

While there are several issues problematic with dial-up access, you are probably seeing one prime example of it. If you have not contacted your ISP provider to address this, you might want to. They may have limited resources available for non-DSL connections - it's worth a try.
Your error hasn't appeared in any "hardware" failure support areas, so I'm pretty confident this is simply an overloaded ISP mail server with limited connections available for your access route.

do you have a dial up connection(makes a phone call always on connecting) or a faster internet?(works 24/7) If you have a dial up, the remote support is not a good idea. Do you want me to troubleshoot / fix the issue with you by remote support? You can use the link I sent earlyer to do that. You need to open the page and install the customer module.

First of all do all your emails go to the default folders? Also are these folders very full? You can corrupt folders by overfilling. It is best to create a new folder and move e-mails to these folders.
Thanks,

This mean the connection to your e-mail server failed. How long have you been having this problem for? It is possible your e-mail servers are down.

Cannot get or send mail. error ox8oocccod

Error 0x800CCC0D
Problem: When you try to send or receive email, you get an error message. It
says the error number is 0x800ccc0D.

Solution: This error is basically saying that your computer cannot connect
to the mail server. The most common and obvious cause of this is that you
are not connected to the internet at all. To test whether this is the case,
try opening a news web page like news.com or doing a Google search (just
opening your homepage is not a good enough test, because it may be saved, or
"cached", on your computer's hard drive). If this test fails, then the
problem is not with e-mail specifically, but rather with the internet
connection. For users on dial-up, you need to dial in first, and then you
should be able to check your email. If Windows is indicating that you are
already connected, try disconnecting and then dial in again. If that fails,
try restarting the computer and then connecting again. If that fails, you
may have spyware or your modem may have gone bad.

If, on the other hand, you are able to pull up web pages, yet still get
error 0x800CCC0D, you should check to make sure the mail servers are typed
in correctly. To check this in Outlook Express, open the Tools menu, select
Accounts, click on the Mail tab, click on the Properties button, then click
on the Servers tab. Or, if you use a different email program, follow the
equivalent procedure for that program. The incoming mail server should be
pop3.vcn.com unless your email address doesn't end with @vcn.com, in which
case put in whatever your address ends with instead of vcn.com (for example,
if your address is person@wavecom.net, enter in pop3.wavecom.net ). The
outgoing mail server should be smtp.vcn.com or substitute whatever your
email address ends with for vcn.com.

Make sure to check the mail servers for all your mail accounts if you have
multiple email addresses.

If you still get error 0x800CCC0D, and definitely can pull up web pages
(that is, the rest of the internet is working fine, only email is having a
problem):

* Restart your computer. This is simple, so you might as well try.
* Try disabling e-mail scanning in your anti-virus program. To do this
in Norton, double-click on the yellow picture for Norton down at the bottom
of your screen by your clock to open Norton. Then click the Options button
at the top of the window (if a drop-down menu appears, choose anti-virus),
then click the word Email on the menu on the left side. Uncheck both Scan
Incoming and Scan Outgoing. Click OK, then close Norton. Try checking your
messages again.
* Disable your firewall. It could be blocking Outlook Express, or
whatever your email program is, from accessing the internet. McAfee firewall
will usually not turn off even when you tell it to, so you'll have to go
into the firewall settings and delete your e-mail program from the blocked
list, or just uninstall McAfee firewall entirely using the Add/Remove
Programs control panel.
* Make sure you recieve replies when you ping the mail server. If you
cannot, something strange is going on.
* Try checking email using a different mail program such as Thunderbird,
or through webmail on our web site, and see if that works.

Other Cases

You may be able to get mail when you first open Outlook Express, but then
get error 0x800CCC0D from then on. To solve this, go to the Tools Menu >
Options > Connection tab, and uncheck "Hang up after sending and receiving".

Your email works fine, but error 0x800CCC0D keeps constantly popping up over
and over. In Microsoft Outlook, Tools > Options > Mail Setup tab > Send and
Receive, and uncheck "Schedule an automatic send/receive every 5 minutes"
(older versions of Outlook will have a similar option under the Mail
Delivery tab). In Outlook Express, go to Tools > Options, and uncheck "check
for messages every ... minutes".

E-mails stop being sent after a short time of use

hi stella,

Was there an error code when you tried to send emails? If you are using Microsoft outlook, try to repair it by going to Tools--Account settings. Under account settings, look for your user name then click on repair.

Take note of the error message.

Keep me posted.

Thanks.

Trying to send e mail on msn messenger, getting error message"no sender specifies"

Double check the email address you entered is correct.

Then try to send that person an email from a different email host like gmail or yahoo. It could just be that msn is having problems, and you might have to wait for them to fix their servers.

I was having this same problem.

Here's what I did:
Under Tools-->Accounts, select email account and then select Properties-->Servers. At the bottom, check the box "My Server Requires Authentication," and then select Settings. Select "use same settings as my incoming server"

After I did all that, my problem disappeared. Hope that helps you.
