Sounds like you have a virus or spyware in the backgound. Open Task manager and check if there is any strange process. Also, Start, Run, msconfig, then startup, see what is staring up in the background. Run you anti-virus.

How to record online music on Toshiba laptop?

You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :-

How do I get toshiba L655-S5146 to support 1080p tv

Laptop OFF, HDTV off, connect an HDMI cable from laptop to HDTV.
Turn the HDTV on.
Turn the laptop on.

Now hold the Fn key down, and at the SAME time; tap on the F5 key until TV comes up.

Now are you talking it won't support 1080p?
The native resolution for the laptop is 720p.

May not work.

I am not aware of a driver for a TV.
I had to install drivers for my HP 2009m monitor, in my computer; in order to get the correct Screen resolution.

There IS a way however. Pretty slick actually,

Not sure it will work on your Toshiba.
Also of course, it cuts down on the portability of a laptop, lol!
Just thought you may want to see it.

Do have an issue with your audio? Can you play music without any problems? If you are only having problem with skype/msn then you just need a faster internet connection.

I have a HP compaq 6735s. A couple of months ago it began to cut out whilst using it either without the adaptor or with. It would cut out frequently, but sometimes it would stay on a while say an hour but...

A laptop cushion is a death sentence for a laptop. Your computer is most likely overheating, and with a pillow or cushion there's nowhere for the heat to go. Those vents are there for a reason, and to be honest I haven't found one with a good enough design to keep it cool. If you keep it actually on your lap for whatever reason you could look into a laptop fan/cooler. I do most of my shopping on ebay so I'll include a link so you can see what I mean:

Can't switch on a laptop

this may be too late for you, but I had the same problem with my old toshiba laptop. The support person I talked to had me take out the battery, leave the computer plugged in and push and hold the on button for 10 - or 15 seconds. She said it discharges something or other and to periodically run the computer without the battery. Sometimes my screen just goes blank on my new computer and this always fixes the problem.

Good luck.

My laptop has died!

You are correct in these possible reasons, but there is one you didn't list and that may be that your BIOS for some unknown reason has been damaged, unfortunately you can't get the computer to power on long enough for a post test to check the BIOS. The best advice I can give you, is if it's still under warranty to call Toshiba and talk to a service tech and ask what they think might be wrong, they might have a solution to the problem or they will just have you send it in and repair it at no cost.

Hope this helps
