Dan, the transistor markings are faded, however, q33 has a y??4x on the case, and another marking c2235 and transistor q23 has a bl4h with a c2240 on its case. There is an 8 pin IC close by with a part no. 455800 JRC and 4135G on its case. Also close by is a electrolytic cap c8 ..value is 220 uf@ 25v.

    Thanks,

    Frank

Can you post the markings on the existing transistors? Also, if these are the output transistors, there shouldbe a complimentary one located close by Q24+Q34 maybe? Post those markings too.

Thanks,
Dan

THe C2235 is actually a 2SC2235, the same for the other C2240 = 2SC2240. Both are common transistors and are inexpensive. The 8-pin IC is a standard opamp IC and can be any of the following:

MC4558, NJM4558, KA4558 Any of these will works and be the same. Try changing the transistors and the opamp. All together you are talking about less than $5

Is there a way to hookup the controllers for a mzc-66 to the bb50-s?

Yes, judging by the large picture of the back, clickable here...

I'd say you can slave up to 12 audio channels off this thing. It neither knows nor cares what they terminate into.

Behringer EP2500 Clip light Channel 2 stays on & heatsink HOT!

There are so many components that can fail that troubleshooting this can be an expensive problem.

HINT: Put a 150 Watt light bulb in series with the power going into to limit current for/during troubleshooting.

Go through and compare the voltages on the teo channels. If power amp transistors have failed, likely the driver transistors also are gone.

Testing components in-circuit is very dificult. Resistors are pretty reliable and usually show damage by discoloration.

Furhter use before repairing MAY cause further damage.

Our SpeakerCraft BB835 won't power up. Could this be as simple as a blown fuse?

hello,
this could be a fuse, check for other fuses on the board.
Also check the power transistors using a multimeter..

Speakercraft DBB12100 Amplifier, Circuit problem

Sounds like its a problem with over heating. open unit clean out all dust and dust bunnies wich compressed air. check that all fans are opperating. (fans on 6x100 amp units or thermal controled). If amp goes into protection prior to fans turning, there is your answer. the @ power supplies will have a green light on the output side. if the light in on power supply is good. or you can check that the output voltage is at 48Vdc on both units.

The numbers of the transistors thay you need to replaced are on the transistor themselfs. Just take out the bad transistors and get the numbers that you need. I ALWAYS replace the output, driver and bias control transistor myself. One thing to keep in mind, if the number on the transistor starts with "A or B or C or D or K" you need to add "2S" in front of that number when you order it. Now that this problem has repeated itself, double check your wire and speaker. They can cause this problem.

It is possible, but nlikely that the protection circuit is bad. More common are shorted output transistors or defective driver stage transistors. This should not be a difficult repair for anyone familiar with audio amps. Unsolder/remove Q22 and Q23 and measure the voltages at each of the 3 pads per transistor and post them here.

Thanks,
Dan
