No sound device after complete installation of all drivers.

Hi there.

I had to install WindowsXP from scratch, due to a virus infection. After complete installation of the WindowsXP, I installed all the drivers from the disc that was included with the motherboard. Yet for some reason, when I open windows media player, there is no sound device. What seems to be the problem?

Can anyone of you help me withit?

Hi,

The problem is caused due to the virus infection. Copying and pasting text is not an issue however the problem that the virus caused you is copying and pasting files. Installing a license antivirus may help you with the problem. Once the problem has been fixed you need to backup the files and reinstall the operating system because some registry or files might got corrupted due to the infection.

You cabn try to install and clean your computer using this. click here. A 30 day trail antivirus just fillout the form and it will send you a link a verification email.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Go to Start\Control Panel\System and click on the hardware tab. Do you see a device with a question mark listed as unknown device or audio controller?
Here is the website, which should have the driver for our Biostar mainboard.
http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/driver.php?S_ID=173

Under the heading onboard audio driver, download the driver for Win XP, then open it once it is finished installing. You will need to uncompress the driver package since it is a compressed file, but once that is done you should be able to install it using the setup.exe file.
A good free decompressor is 7-zip, which you can find free here:
http://www.7-zip.org/
Let me know if there are any other questions, etc.

I require a chipset driver and audio driver for my HP laptop, 1GB ram, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 ALLADIN TNT2 (256MB), INTEL CALISTAGA i945PM chipset, WindowsXP-32bit,

Hi,
(Sounds like you have downgraded to XP :))
Try these drivers to get the sound working:
UAA Driver:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...os=228&lang=en
Sound driver:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...os=228&lang=en
Install the UAA driver first, Reboot and then install the sound Driver and reboot.
The modem driver here:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...os=228&lang=en
install and reboot.
Lan Driver:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...os=228&lang=en
Install and reboot

If you have any problems left in device manager after that:
Try this driver the Integrated Module:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...os=228&lang=en
This Driver for the Base system devices:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reg_R1002_USEN

Good Luck

Chris (ziraffa)

PS If you install the LAN driver first you'll at least get internet working, then you can download the others straight onto the laptop.

How to install sound drivers

in safe mode windows uses minimum drivers to load. It just load that drivers that are neccessary to boot. so you can't see many drivers in safe mode.

If you find that your system is infected by virus, then you should run an antivirus. Or if you have all the setups of required software and drivers, you can make format and re-install.

thanks
