Hi i hav a sony laptop it has a broblem i installed window again but now it is not working wirelessly

On a different computer, go to this site and fill in the model number, etc on the right side. After it takes you to the next page, there is a "Download" button on the right. Find the wireless card driver, download it, transfer it to the Sony laptop using a jump drive, and install it.

My computer keeps losing the wirelsee internet, and does not show my wireless to connect to. After I push diagnose and repair it wants me to turn on my wireless switch that is all ready on.

Hi mproulx,

It is required to install the Wireless LAN Utility Update and Wireless LAN Driver Update in the Computer to fix this issue.

Here are the link to download the Updates.

Intel Wireless Network Adapter Driver Update

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNN220EW&upd_id=4751&os_id=28

Wireless Switch Setting Utility Update

http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-download.pl?mdl=VGNN220EW&upd_id=2970&os_id=28

Please download and install the Updates in the Computer. Also please restart the Computer after each installation for the settings to take the effect. This should fix the issue with the Wireless.

Good Luck!

Hope this helps.

Please post back if you require further assistance.

Thanks for using Fixya.

I want to connect my telstra wireless modem to my PS3

I assume the Telstra wireless modem is configured correctly and the computer/laptop can access the Internet wirelessly.
The PS3 needs to be configured with the Telstra modem's wireless settings so it can communicate with the wireless modem.
To configure the PS3 please follow these steps :-
1. Power up the PS3 and login then Select Network Settings and
press X
2. Select Easy then press > button
3. Select Wireless then press > button
4. Select Scan then press > button
5. Select the wireless modem you want to use, then press X button
6. Confirm the SSID for the wireless modem then press > button
7. Select the security settings (ie WAP, WPA - this is the in the wireless modem settings) then press > button
If there is no encryption I suggest you enable the encryption on the wireless modem, use passphrase to generate the encryption key.
Write down this encryption key, you will need this key for your computers and PS3.
8. Enter the WEP or WPA encryption key (from the wireless modem) then press > button
9. Check the settings then press X button

Hi sheppardr,
You need to Update the Wireless LAN Driver in the Computer to fix this issue. You can download and install the Update from the below link to fix the issue with the Wireless Network.

Please follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. After installing the Update, please restart the Computer for the settings to take the effect. This should fixit.
If the issue persist, you can try updating the Driver using the "Intel Driver Update Utility".
To run the Intel Driver Update Utility, please open the below link in a new Web browser window.
http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/detect.htm

Then, click the "Check you System for the latest Updates" button, you may need to install a add-in to begin the process. Please click the Yes button to install the Software. Then, the Update Utility will start searching for the Updates for the Device detected in your Computer. This will show-up all the Updates for the Computer. Please download and install the Update for the Computer. Restart the Computer when Prompted.
This should fix the issue with the Wireless Networks.
Best of the Luck!

Sony Vaio laptop unable to detect wireless access point

CompuLayne: Hello bluebells953

Netgear is quite tricky as is with all other routers, but I don't think the router is your problem. Try to do the following.

1) Turn off Vaio laptop
2) unplug router
3) unplug modem
4) plug back in modem - wait for it to boot up
5) plug back in router - wait for it to boot up
6) turn back on the Vaio - log in and see if it sees the SID. If it isn't broadcasting, you might have to enter it in manually and select connect to non broadcasting network
