Power off the computer, take out the adapter. move it to a different PCI slot, then restart.

If that does not work:
Uninstall the Belkin driver,
Power off unit . remove adapter.
Power on and install the drivers.
Power off once more and reinstall the card.
Restart and it should work.

How do I shut the wake up feature

A common reason a computer will wake up in due to a network adapter.

  1. Open Device Manager. To do this open Control Panel and type dev in the search box and click "Device Manager"
  2. Expand the list for "Network Adapters"
  3. Right-click the adapter to be configured and choose "Properties". There may be several adapters, one for Ethernet, one for wireless, and others like Bluetooth
  4. In the dialog that opens, click the tab "Power Management"
  5. Remove the check by "Allow this device to wake the computer"
  6. Click "OK" and close up Device Manager

My HP wireless doesn't work? I don't have wireless connection on my compaq laptop anymore.

check your wireless adapter is on... the switch is on the front of your laptop and you should show a blue light when it's on, also go into device manager and see network adapters.. you should have 2 (the wire one built-in and your wireless network adapter.. if you only have one network adapter, check the front and see if the light indicating the status of your wireless network adapter is amber.. (if it's showing amber and you're sure it's in the on position you may have a motherboard problem and you may need to send the system back (I just had one of those with a compaq computer and since the item was within warranty the fixed in a week)

if your wireless adapter light is blue and you see your wireless adapter in device manager follow this instructions and you should be ok,

I purchased a Belkin N1 Wireless USB adapter recommended to me by PC World but it is not working correctly. It WILL locate my network but will NOT allow internet access on it. I did ask specifically in the...

Hi there!

Theoretically, it should work with each other. I didn't find any documentation at Belkin's site that states the N1 USB adapter being not compatible with 3rd party devices like your Netgear router.

From what I know is N-Draft's wireless technology should be backwards compatible with both wireless-B and wireless-G devices.

1. Do you have other working wireless devices at your network during that time that you have the N1 USB adapter?
2. Were you able to connect to your wireless network? If Yes, what was your IP address at the wireless computer incase you had the chance to check it?

Maybe you can try to inquire with Belkin about what you've encountered with their device for clarification.

Hope this helps!
