Check that the fan is operating--without a properly operating fan the projector will overheat and trip the thermal switch.
Also check that the filter is clean and the vents are unobstructed.
In some cases where everything looks fine we have been able to get the projector to run by switching the fan to "high speed mode" (or its equivalent) from the menu.
