Check that the fan is operating--without a properly operating fan the projector will overheat and trip the thermal switch.

Also check that the filter is clean and the vents are unobstructed.

In some cases where everything looks fine we have been able to get the projector to run by switching the fan to "high speed mode" (or its equivalent) from the menu.

It keeps overheating.

Is the fan set to run continuously? Go to the menu and see if it's set up to run. Also we have this problem with mounted projectors in our classrooms, we have to keep the room cool, and make sure the projector gets circulation of air.
Hope this helps.

Mounting the Projector from the Ceiling

Projectors, in general want to project the bottom of the image 1 foot above the lens at a typical range. When mounted upside down, they project the top of the image 1 foot below the center of the lens. If you don't want to turn the projector over, you'll have to change the angle and probably go to the extreme on the keystone correction.

Having the yellow flashing light

Sounds like maybe a power surge killed the TV. If it is newer, try contacting the Manufacturer for warranty repairs.

if the lamp has 2000 hors on it, it needs replacing. go into the menu and find out how many lamp hours are used. it could be the lamp and it could be the ballast.

HP MP3 3222 Projector

you dont connect a projector to a tv. you connect a video source to the projector like a dvd player or a video 360 etc, the projector then projects the item connected to it, like your tv does when you connect similar items. The projector has a couple of inputs available to it ..this is why it is saying searching VGA and Composite video etc
