I see a circle when thru view finder

My daughter exchange the lens in my D5 and after that I see a circle thru the view finder just like if I was looking thru the lens. I tried to reset by removing the battery but no use.

Does this only happen on just the lens that your daughter replaced?

If so it might be a digital lens your 5D is not compatible witha digital lense.

Sounds like the Focusing screen in the camera is missing. (its the frosted piece of glass that is above the mirror)

Off lens, view finder is not workink

The view finder is the little window on the top left of the camera. If you want to use the display as a view finder, you have to press the button with the camera logo. It is called the life view mode. you use the same button to switch off the display. Be aware using the display, will drain the batteries quicker. Somewhat faster then with modern cameras.
see page 19 of the manual.

Will not take picture

If the view finder is dim it is likely the iris of the lens is stuck and cannot acquire correct lighting. It need to be repaired by disassembling the lens.

Have a Powershot S2 IS, and when turn camera on in record mode, there is no image appearing. No image appearing when looking thru view finder either. any ideas on issue?

this means there is a problem with your lens system. If Lens system seems ok then problem may be with the CCD/CMOS repairing which will be pretty costly and will need a expert hands to fix it.

My camera screen is completely black...

most digital cameras have the option of either viewing either thru the large screen OR thru the regular old view finder. There should be a small button that will let you toggle between the two. Hope this helps!

The view finder is blac

I would guess your shutter is stuck closed, or the lens digitizer is faulty. Either problem will result in replacing your whole camera lens assembly. Sorry.

No picture.

Recheck everything about the camera.
Batteries, are they fresh, or fully recharged?
Too many problems without knowing more of what is happening, in my opinion.

Problem with Canon EOS D60 Digital Camera

You need to clean the gold contacts with a soft pencil eraser. Remove the lens, and clean the contacts on it. Then hold the camera so the lens opening is pointing down and clean the contacts on the camera. Ensure no debris gets into the camera body and none is left behind on the lens.
Put it all back together and you should be good to go.
