I recently bought a Tiny Green 320 laptop 2nd hand. it works fine except the DVD drive, which reads DVDs fine but doesn't do anything with audio CDs or CD-ROMS. The discs work in another laptop and our stereo, so the problem is definitely in the Tiny laptop. Is there an easy (for a non-expert) way to sort this out?

i would return the item to your retailer as it should hold a 12 month warranty, as if it cannot read cds or dvd, the lens is faulty, and trying to repair it yourself will void your warranty.

If you have used and/or burned a DVD that wasn't tested to work successfully with your DVD-rom then there is the off chance that it ruined the DVD portion of the drive. I have had the same problem myself and unfortunately the only solution is to replace the drive or get an external drive. If your laptop is still under warranty then see what the manufacturer can do for you.
