I had the same problem and the stupid tv would shut off after 1 minute. We opened the silver front panel , took the bulb out cleaned it, took the cover off the grey box to the right and very carefully vaccumed the filter and wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. It works great now!!! Make sure you unplug your tv before messing with it.

I just had the same message come up. If you are a handy person you should be able to do this yourself. It does require the removal of a few dozen screws so take your time and be careful. The filter on this model is located in the back of the TV, dead center. You have to move the silver box with all the wires coming out of it, you should be able to move it out of the way without removing any of the wires. The filter housing is directly behind in the very middle of the TV. It has 2 larger screws on the top and 2 smaller screws on each side of it. Once these have been removed it should pull right off exposing the filter. The filter is held on by 4 of its own screws. Carefully remove the filter and wash it, once dry replace and reassemble. FYI on this model there is no filter located anywhere near the bulb.

Panasonic PT-60LCX64 Air Filter Cleaning

Cleaning filter for the Panansonic PT-501LCX64.

I just had a T.V. tech do this. The filters are located on the two removable filters on the back side of the T.V. They look like the speaker units. He removed those two units, unplugged them & set them on the floor. He took some type of electronic cleaner with a cloth & wiped them down. The filters themselves are plastic. He explained that air flows through some tube connected to these plastic filters for cooling down below. He admitted they didn't look dirty--put everything back together & it is working fine now.

I imagine that dirty or not the timer is automatically set for every 400 hrs. of use to give you the prompt that the filter needs cleaning & will shut off in one minute so you can call a T.V. tech?

So to reset the timer--follow the other detailed prompts listed on this board & or use your owners manual & follow the prompts for replacing the bulb. That should take you somewhere to reset the timer--so you have another 400 hours of operation.

I believe it's with the T.V. turned off--hold down the down volume on your tv itself while holding the swap button on the remote control for 5-7 seconds---then follow the prompts. You should see a prompt for replacing a bulb & then one for filter cleaning. Then just reset the timer.

Hopefully this will help?

How to reset the meter of lamp

You need to have your Panasonic remote.
1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

PIP for Models:
PT-50LC13/PT-60LC13/PT-50LCX63/
PT-60LCX63/PT-43LCX64/
PT-50LCX64/PT-60LCX64

SPLIT for Models:
PT-43LC14/PT-50LC14/PT-60LC14

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.
