Normally, you will get notifications from OTA (over-the-air) when the updates are available for you. From here, you can open it and tap the update action to upgrade Android system to the latest version. However, if for whatever reason, it isn't being rolled out to your phone or you accidentally cleared the notification, then you need to upgrade Android version manually:
Connect your Android phone to the Wi-Fi Network.
Go to Settings > About device, then tap System Updates > Check for Updates > Update to download and Install the latest Android version.
Your phone will automatically reboot and upgrade when the installation completed.

This is an Android tablet and you can try to reset it but this will erase all your personal data.
You can do this from the Android System Recovery menu.
To go in the Android system recovery menu, press and hold the Power On button and some other key (Volume Up, Volume Down, Home ). The combination is different for the different models.
When you are in the Android system recovery menu, use The Volume Up/Down keys for navigation and the Power button for confirmation.
Choose one by one:
- wipe data / factory reset
- Yes -- delete all user data
- reboot system now
You can confirm this by going into your menu - then settings - about phone (it might be something different since it isn't a phone, but it should say "about" or something like that). In this screen it should tell you the android version you are running. I hope this helps.
