I have a Samsung Caliber with a Blackberry HS500 bluetooth headset. During a call the headset will stop working for a few seconds, switch to the phone, then switch back to the headset. I think it's my...
I don't know if this will help, but to be sure it is the phone, try taking a pre-prepared call from someone with your blue-tooth switched to ^speaker^ - I know this may sound a bit goofy & I might be totally off, but depending on where you are when the problem occurs, it could be simple cell tower or satellite interference. There can also be an issue during ^high traffic volume^ times of the day. I have different brands of cell and blue-tooth, & I have had the same experience, but I have started to notice that it only occurs in certain areas &/or at specific times of the day. If I am right in the downtown area, during morning or evening traffic (when many many many others in all the tall buildings are also using WiFi & cell/satellite), I have lost a few seconds here & there also.
I wonder if we may sometimes take some of this technology for granted, because, unlike hardwired land lines, we are counting on satellites and cell towers, that are being used by -gracious knows how many- other people at the same time, & as you switch from tower to tower, your phone can ^drop^ briefly.
The other two best ways to check this would be; a) go direct to Samsungs website, with the string of our model, then simply blue-tooth, etc, as follows - Samsung Caliber, blue-tooth, interference - that string should take you direct to their tech section & should have updates about what brands work best & which they have found ^allow^ the call drops. Option b) go see your cell provider (even better with a heads-up call/appt so they have time for a bit of research, minimizes the time you have to be there & bonus, if they have the software to fix this, they will download it in advance) - most of the supervisors have sufficient experience to answer more fully, if none of the above has helped. Best of luck, & wishing you a happy & safe Holiday season. gms
