There should be a lever marked vent, fresh air or something like that to draw outside air in. I'm not sure what you by dry because 50% of a/c is dehumidification. This maybe a sales feature. Please call me at 504-722-3946 I own an a/c company and like to know more about this feature.

Thank You,

There is a gray lever at the bottom right of the vents. Pull the lever to draw in outside air. Push it in to recycle inside air.

Dry is a control to just dry the air inside the room, sometimes the temperature setting is fixed and you can not change it.
if you want to cool the room, you need to chose the cool mode or sometimes the snowflake icon. in this mode, you can change the temperature setting.

some models of window type airconditioners does not have the fresh air intake feature. verify your unit if it has this feature.

i have seen some manual models and not electronics that they have a level that you will adjust to choose fresh air and recycle air.

tnx 4 using fixya,

What does the "dry mode" mean in a Hampton Bay air

"dry mode" normally means, to dehumidify only. this will not cool the air nor heat it consistently.

The "dry mode" dehumidifies the air. This is useful when you do not need to cool the air but the relative humidity is higher than you want to have inside. You get the advantage of bringing in the fresh air without increasing the indoor humidity.

I hope this helps.

Would like confirmation that this unit has the fan feature to draw in outside air for free cooling in cooler weather.

No. It can be done only with fresh air system, not in window a/c. But keep dry mode during winter, if you need cooler whether.

My window air conditioner is making very loud noises and it is not dripping water outside

No condensation means no freon flow in condensor which sounds like bad compressor which would account for the noise. Replacement would probably be most economical way to remedy.

Do we need to use both hoses?

You could draw the air from inside however the system works much more effeciently with 2 hoses.
The air that is drawn into the unit and heated then exhausted back outside. If you don't use the second hose all the air that is exhausted will have to be drawn in around windows and doors or othe voids in the area. This would draw in warm moist air that would then have to be cooled and dehumidified.

Window too small

Not really, the condenser must be able to draw air from the outside and must stay outside, sideways the A/C will not function properly.

i dont think you are drawing air from outside you are expeling the heat from indoor ...outdoor so for it to cool the room you must vent the hose outside

E2 error code on Haier cprd12xh7 portable air conditioner

Hi! You need to check pump filter. It could be jammed with a coin or hair clip. Now take the machine outside and empty it then lay it on its side and you can access the pump. Take it off, stand up the machine and pour hot water into the soap draw and check water should run out of bottom freely taking any fluff or bits with it. Now take apart the pump and clean it and dry all components before re-assembly. If the machine still doesn?t work then you need to replace the pump. Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
