Washing machine wf860 washing machine wont wash cause test keep coming up on it

    ihave the same problem i havve unpluged it but test keeps coming up on there and nothing elsse do you suggest anything else

We had the same problem - but it was slightly different solution - we just had to hold in the bottom START button for a few seconds and hen we got the word DOFF on the screen and it works OK

Pressing and holding the two centre buttons ie on/off and start/cancel together for a few seconds causes the machine to run in 'test' mode. Doing the same again puts it back to normal wash.
I nearly called an engineer once because my daughter causes it all of the time!

You need to reset the clock and the timer. Unplug the machine for 10 minutes and then again reset it.

I have a hotpoint ultima wf860 washing machine when trying to do a wash it just keeps saying test what is wrong with it ?????
SomeHotpoint's are designed to go into test mode when the start button and the on/off button are pressed at the same time. If you are stuck in Test mode, simply hold the start button down until it comes out of test mode, then hold both the start buttons and the on/off button down until you see 'D:end' (or similar message). Now try a normal wash programme again and hopefully it should be fine. If it goes into test mode by itself, then it may be an indication that there is a real fault, or a faulty programmer board. hope this helps.

Every time we try to wash it comes up test and goes through a test cycle. Will not wash. Hotpoint WF860
Try the following, may work:
  1. Press the Start/Cancel button together until all the console Led's illuminate
  2. Press both Start/Cancel and On/Off buttons together until 'd off' appears
  3. Default screen should return and you can select a new programme

My washing machine keeps coming up test can you help me
Hello Lainy34,

Give this a try, turn off then back on. When on appears on the screen press and hold the "start/cancel" and the "on/off" at the same time until "D:off" appears in the display. It should be back to normal after that. Hope this fixes it for you.

My machine wont go passed the wash cycle and the timer goes down, it gets stuck at 1 minute then wont stop it just keeps going and going
Machine awaits for water temperature to rise but it never happens and that's why it "wont stop it just keeps going and going". It happens because the water heater is either dead or one of the two cables powering it are corroded or have fallen off from heater.

If you're experienced DIY guy than need to check if the both cables are properly attached if so than you need to test if the current goes trough the heater. If not than it needs to be replaced. If you're not DIY than call the repairman since messing with it can be dangerous.

hi, i have the same machine..i have a feeling it does this annually to make you call an engineer. to reset it do this; hold the 'start' button until all lights display, then press 'start' again. hold the 'start' and 'on/off' button together until it reads d-end or d-off. it doesnt always work 1st time so keep trying, good luck x
