Fridge freezer cda543fw
Hello, on most refrigerators when you are trying to access the evaporator coil to diagnose a defrost issue you would remove the rear panel on the inside of the freezer by unscrewing the screws that hold the panel to the back wall. There are some also where the coil is located in the floor of the freezer as well and likewise you would unscrew those screws which hold the floor in and slide the panel outward. By removeing this panel this gives you access to the evaporator coil. There are two key parts which should be tested in this area with a multimeter. The first is the defrost thermostat which you would unplug the machine and disconnect the thermostat and perform an ohms test on it. Usually a defrost thermostat would read about .50 ohms or higher if it were functioning properly. The next part would be located usually under the evaporator coil and is called the defrost heater. This part also you would perform a continuity test on and most usually give an ohms reading of 20 ohms or higher to test as functioning properly. If you find that both these are working good message me back for further instructions as to the adaptive control board or the defrost timer depending on which you do have. Note all ice you find on the evaporator coil has to be defrosted with a hair dryer as well as any ice build up on the evaporator fan or drain area located under the coil. If you have any further questions message me back. I await your reply.
Thank you,
Rick

If you go to
the BEKO website, there is a link to check your serial number:

But I have
to say, matching serial number or not, if I had an affected model, I would be
checking with BEKO anyway!!

Hello, Could you please provide the make and full model number of your freezer? Also if you can state which thermostat as well there are a couple in a freezer such as the defrost thermostat which would be located on the evaporator coil. There is also a thermostat control which is located under the knob or dial that you use to turn the unit to get warmer or colder. I will await your reply before posting a solution.
Thank you,
Rick
