Question about Kenmore 22062 Top Load Washer
At first I got ld error and determined that is was a long drain. I checked the drain and there doesn't appear to be a clog. I tried to rerun the load and now am getting a ob error. I have actually removed the clothes and tried to just get the washer to drain and am still getting the same code. I have even tried to adjust the level of the machine, still getting the same error. Any suggestions?
Turn mach on spin,if you hear the pump turning normally you have a blocked sump.if the pump hums, you have a jammed pump.the pump is located under mach, tilt backwards as far as possible and remove screws on ft of access plate.once plate is removed pump will be on right side either held on by 2 clips or 4 torx screws.the 4 torx screws will split the pump in half and allow you to clean it out.the 2 clip pump cannot be split in half but you can remove the 2 hose clamps and try to remove what is jamming(you have a 50/50 chance of getting item out of this kind of pump).bail out as much water as possible, this mach will still have a huge amount of water in it even after bailing it so have some buckets handy and slowly drain from pump before removing.if there is something stuck in the sump, call a technician.lot more complicated and involves special tools and removing entire basket and u-joint assy..good luck

This was really good advice, my machine was getting multiple error codes after draining and cleaning the drain line, after I followed this and went in thru the bottom, cleaned both hoses entering and leaving the sump, my sump had clips and was easily removed I used a six inch piece of wire and a garden hose to clean the sump, reinstalled and as is well, oh by the way our machine got jammed with cotton from backing material for a quilt my wife decided to wash, it fell apart and jammed just about everything.

Good to here your not giving up. First we have ld from a long drain and then ob or out of balance. The LD and OB are from the same problem, water in the machine.
How far is your drain hose in the drain? Should only go three inches, maybe four and use a zip tie to secure. This will ensure a strong drain with out causing a siphoning problem or build up in the tub and hoses. The second issue is if the tub drain is clogged. You can pull the nutate dome off and carefully remove the bolts found under it noting how the rubber boot is under the wash plate as to prevent leaks. Inspect for sediment and lost socks. After each step I encourage testing to prevent to much labor when it is not needed. If all looks good the pump is on the bottom right side. You have to remove three 5/16 screws to swing the black plate down. If it is a gray pump with clips and it is leaky or froze I would replace as there is a new high power pump that works better.
