Are you working on a PDA?? try to reset your pda (at the back or close to the edges look for a a little hole... with something pointy push inside the hole gently)

you may also want to recalibrate your screen... if it's a pocket pc what you have go into start>settings>system and look for self test or screen (to align your screen).

it sounds like a faulty screen. hope you're still in warranty and for those devices you may want to get the extended warranty.. I purchased myself one and I've had it replaced 3 times with my 3 year warranty. the extended warranty completely paid off! thought you should know that.

How can I get of the tutorial menu.it seems to have frozen

According to Salivat Gairdner, below is How to un-freeze your hudl.

Turn over your hudl and search for a hole. Once you've found it, find a pen or pin and push it in. The hudl's screen should turn off. Turn the hudl back on using the power button and your set!

How to fix the freezing bug

Tesco has released an update which includes a setting in the Display section. It should automatically install, if it doesn't go to Settings then to About Tablet. Click on System Updates and wait for the hudl to find the update, if it does find one - leave it be until the installation has finished. Once it's finished, go back to Settings then to Display. Click on Reset touch screen, this is what causes the hudl to freeze. Click on Reset screen and your done!

Tip

Computer common problems easy fix.

The most common problem with computers is them freezing up.
When applications dont load or freeze up.
The easiest way to fix most problems is usually just the simple act of "rebooting" the computer.
Most of us already know that.
but just in case you dont heres how.
when the computer seems frozen and you seem to have waited longer for it to unfreeze than it takes for bread to toast.. you can try the following.
press and hold the crtl anf alt buttons and double tap the del button.
on older computers using windows 98- 2000 and millenium editions it will usually reboot the computer. also works with older versions.
with xp and vista you will usually fet a differernt screen that will allow you to choose various options.. choose restart.
another way is to click on the start button located on the bottom left of your screen and choose restart option. if the computer is so frozen that nothing works you can press and hold the power button unti lthe computer shuts down.. wait 30 seconds and turn the computer back on..if that doesnt work then you may have to turn of the power switch..but only if you have to..with laptops you will have to take out the battery. when the comp reboots the computer should be unfrozen..if not you will need more help ..just ask us..

Touch screen not working

Touchscreen computers and handheld devices are the newest wave of technological gadgets as of 2010.

While these devices function impressively, they can malfunction just like any other technical device.
Troubleshooting the touchscreen is simple and often will correct any issues.

Identify how the screen is behaving.
A touchscreen will malfunction in one of two areas--sensitivity or position.

If you touch the screen and the cursor is not centered on your finger, this is a position error and requires recalibration of the screen.

If you touch the screen and it does not register your touch without pressing hard, this is a sensitivity error.

If you touch the screen and nothing happens, this can be a sensitivity error or a malfunctioning screen.

Calibrate the screen.
For all main errors, calibrating the screen will correct the issue.

Every device has a different method of calibration but can usually be found under a "Tools" or "Diagnostics" menu option.

Reload the device.
For handheld devices, remove the battery and let the device rest for no less than five minutes.

For computer or computer system devices, power down the device, disconnect the touchscreen device from the computer and remove any power cords to it.

Allow the device to rest for five minutes.
Reattach the device or reinstall the battery and power up the device.

If issues persist, reload the software for the device.
For handheld devices, do a full wipe of the device and return it to factory specifications.

For add-on devices to a computer or computer system, uninstall the device and reinstall the drivers.

If reloading, registering or calibrating the device does not work, consult the manufacturer for possible warranty replacement options.

or if you are runnung windows 7
Connect the screen to a computer running Windows 7 using the supplied USB cable and a cable for the video signal.
Ensure the cables are properly connected.

or you might use the system to restore to resolve the problem

You can use the System Configuration utility to perform a system restore. There are three possible restore points:System checkpoints that Windows schedules

Manual restore points that you specify with the System Configuration utility
Installation restore points that occur before you install a program or a service

you can use the system checkpoints or the installation restore points to restore your computer's settings to a date when it operated correctly.
This may also help determine the cause of the configuration error.

To perform a system restore, follow these steps:

1.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.

2.On the General tab, click Launch System Restore.

3.Select Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.

4.Calendar dates in bold are possible restore points. Click the most recent one to view system restore information.

5.Select a system checkpoint or an installation restore point, and then click Next.

6.Close all other programs.

7.To start the system restore, click Next.

8.Your computer restarts.Repeat steps 1 through 8 until you fix your configuration issue.

CD-ROM drive does not work. Does not show up in My Computer or Device Manager. I think this may have happened when I upgraded to Windows 7

Hi,

It happens often with my Dell 745 when I upgraded. Usually after a reboot it shows up again. Sometimes I have to turn off the computer, unplug the power, open the case and remove the Drive itself from the computer. The I plug it back in and turn the computer back on and it shows up again. I have contacted dell with the issue and they tell me update my drivers. But the problem comes back ever so often

Hope this helps

LCD back light is off or very dim

I changed monitors and it works??? What worked. Did the brightness appear? Is the monitor now functioning properly?

If not, monitors can have increase brightness by using the menu settings. The settings can be accessed by the buttons that are usually below the monitor screen on the front under panel. Adjust the brightness from there.

If that fails then change the monitor. That you are suggesting that the backlight is out, I am assuming that you have a flatpanel monitor and not a CRT. Either can be configured the same way using the menu buttons; however, the back light issues are different in the two types of monitor.

Good Luck

Icons freezing after computer starts up

I think your account might be corrupt, and should probably be deleted. I would highly recommend backing up your data to an external hard drive or create a temporary folder on your C drive, then create a new user account through the control panel. Once this is done, log off of the current account, login to the new account. Locate the icon titled My Computer. Right-click the icon and choose Properties. Look for the tab titled Advanced- click it. Midway down under User Profiles there should be a button titled Settings- click it. IN the list that populates with the user accounts (profiles) stored on your machine, highlight the account that you were just previously logged into (the original account that you were experiencing problems with). Once the old account name is selected, choose the button titled delete. Now, you can restart and log back in. This should put you back at a ready state. It will also resolve your problem if spyware was to blame for your inital problems. Let me know.
