Check Manufacturers website to look for upgrades to suit....do not know which make/model or software, you've not mentioned.

Thank you for answering. I need to use Scan n Sew PC to transfer designs for my Janome 9000 and Vista will not support the software program. Scan n Sew does not have new update available. I have to figure away that Windows 98 will accept info from Vista.

How to transfer embroidery patterns to Brother sewing/embroidery machine

Machine designs first designator is the file name. Your machine shows the file number for the design you want. You do still need to "select" that design number shown to actually begin teh file transfer from a thumb drive or cable direct from your computer if your machine has that feature.

My wife has a Janome 5700 Memory Craft sewing machine along with a number of Janome memory cards containing embroidery designs. Is it possible to transfer the designs from these memory cards to her Windows...

I don't have a 5700,mine is a 9000 but the cards that came with mine are a plastic aprox 1 inch square. This machine came out before there was any type of interface to connect to a back up system ie; USB or firewire. I would assume that if you can download new patterns from the internet, than you could back them up.If your machine does not have that capability then you will just have to find new memory cards for you machine online and order them.

My windows 98 hard drive is on its last leg and is the machine I use for my rose sewing machine embroidery. I found out that the floppies are corrupt and I will not be able to transfer the program. Wh

Are you sure the floppies are corrupt? I suggest you locate a computer professional that sells used computers and tell them what you want done. I'll bet they can transfer the files to a new hard drive for your old computer or to another computer. Be aware that the older embroiderary software is not compatable with Windows Vista, 7, or 8 so don't plan on getting a new computer as part of this update.

Viking Rose can't install System 5 software

You may be able to find an old computer with Windows 95 or 98. Make sure that it also has a parallel port for the older R/W boxes.

You may also find that the 4D Embroidery package will do what you wish to do and it is under $400. 4D Embroidery Extra is the $700 package.

If you only want to put existing designs onto the card with no manipulation, you can get the Reader/Writer kit, $199 MSRP that includes Organizer which will allow you to load 1 design to your card at a time.

Unfortunately, System 5 was replaced by VIP which was replaced by 3D which was replaced by 4D. I don't think that system 5 will run on anything newer than Windows 98.

I HAVE A JANOME EMBROIDERY350E MACHINE

I think the problem may be with the folder structure on your flash drive!

You need to start by creating a new folder called EmbF5, and put your designs in that, in another folder which should be called MyDesign. You can have other folders within EmbF5 - all the folder names must have 8 letters or less, but the design names can be longer. The machine uses jef format designs.

There are several Yahoo Groups for users of the Janome embroidery machines, many of the folks on them are very knowledgeable and will help with problems.

I hope this helps

Downloading designs from the internet

Disk Manager is part of Customizing software, in case you were wondering if you needed to buy more software. Ask again if you are having trouble locating it. You also need to format your floppy disk in Disk Manager before writing your designs to it.
