Question about Home
Inherited a jetted tub with house purchase. Motor seems to work, but no air out of jets. My contractor found that if all jets but one turned off, air will eventually start coming and then other jets can be turned on. Yesterday we were told by neighbor that previous owners used to give their dogs whirlpool baths in the tub, which caused the plumbing to clog up. They were unable to clean the fur out.
Is there any practical way to unclog the pipes, or is the only option to replace the tub? Or is the problem more likely in the motor? (I don't want to make a decision only based on hearsay.)
This is a rural area where it is extremely unlikely to find a whirlpool tub repair person.
Depending on how mechanically inclined you are, take apart the tub and clean everything out. No easy task, I know, but who want old dog hair floating around? That will be your best bet.
