I have now went through two Wiis after both have suffered a complete power failure after a power outage at my house. Neither case was a power surge that I am aware of. I have my Wii plugged into a good power surge protector and nothing else plugged in has been affected. Is there any advice or solutions that can be offered?

I just had the same problem as everyone else. I had a brief power loss and our new Wii system's power would no longer work. To fix the problem, I unplugged everything from our Wii and unplugged the power cord from the outlet. I let the system set for 10 minutes and re-plugged the power only. That did the trick. Then I was able to plug everything back up and we are now back to playing.
Supposedly, doing the steps above resets the Wii according to the Nintendo online trouble shooting guide.
This just happened to our Wii lastweek when the power went out for just moments at home. Just unpluged the Wii and let it sit overnight unpluged. The next morning it was as good as new. Not sure why this happens or how this fixes it, but it workes.

This is ridiculious. I havent played my wii in a couple of weeks and when my cuz came over to want to play it it wouldnt work the power went out a week ago but i didnt notice it not working. this is stupid they really need to do something about it.
