BMW BM54 amplifier.Has a output fault - Audio Players & Recorders

Only get sound sometimes for a short time when it is over like -15 Celsius outside. Sound gradually dies/distorts and fades away. Most likely internal amp failure. Could the amplifier parts inside be changed somehow? This would probably require some precision soldering...

This is generally caused by nothing more than dry solder joints. Adding more solder to the pcb 'attachments' usually works. Certainly a first step!

Found a guy called xkalibar, who seems to know everything about these bmw bm54 Becker units. Not only did he repair the unit, but improved sound quality with larger amps, updated firmware to allow mp3 id3 tag and dynamic routing, added rca preouts and aux in.
His email is xkalibar@gmail.com

Error code e02 kenwood amp on sony xplode 1000 watt subwoofer box

It is possiblethat the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain whichhad triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be with youroutput drivers. Please check for short on the outputs fitted for both the channels.Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnectthe positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protectchanges. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into theoutput can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise which can be a HUMor HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also cancause similar issues and needs close observation. You need to confirm andreplace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in themother board. Maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to afaulty bias or there is a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Alsodisconnect the speakers and test, if the amplifier comes out of the protectmode then check for short on the speakers.

The protection light on my pyramid 1600 watt 2 channel MOSFET amplifiers is on

It is possible that the amplifier had encountered a fault with a higher current drain which had triggered it to a protection fault condition. The fault can be your output drivers- the MOSFETS/IC's fitted for both the channels, Use a meter after disconnecting to check for short in the drivers. Disconnect the positive and negative voltages to the output and see if the protect changes. Even a fault in the preamp stages that drives in high current into the output can shut the Amplifier. Sometimes this can be a noise like a HUM or HISS before the protect works. Faulty capacitors in these circuits also can cause similar issues and needs close observation.
You need to confirm and replace the specific stages or outputs. If not there can be issues in the mother board, maybe the protect circuit by itself is shutting off due to a faulty bias , maybe a leak in any voltage/current sensing circuit. Also disconnect the speakers and test, if the protect is off then check for short on the speakers.

Ig i high the volume, then the system turn off and on the lcd write protect

The Amplifier is being overloaded so it shutting down to protect itself. Repeated cycles of this will cause a total failure of the Amplifier.

There are a couple of possible causes to this fault.

Disconnect both speakers and then connect one speaker at a time and see if you get the same fault.

If after connecting one of the speakers you get the same fault, try either connecting that speaker to the other output or the second speaker to the same output.

If you get the same fault with any speaker on any output then there's a fault on the Amplifier.

The fault is most likely to be blown capacitors which could be replaced by yourself depending on your technical ability.

Stereo amplifier shutdown.

  • The amplifier is showing the protect mainly due to a safety feature on the power circuit. The fault could be failure or short in the output stages, short in the speakers, fault in the power ciicuit or the error amplifier that triggers the relay.
  • To trace the fault it is impotant to make the test in the main board, disconnect the power to output to confirm if the output is faulty. similarily disconnect the powering circuit one by one to identify. replace or disconnect to confirm. Hope this helps. Good day

Infinity 600 wat amp

Your amplifier is having a serious fault within preventing further damage to the amplifier. If could be a failure of the output mosfets, failure of the predriver, failure of the bias to the output mosfets, short inthe speakers- check this out- fault inthe error amp section for wrong current indiication or malfunctions in the mother board. All of this will need careful location of the fault by checking ont these stages. Porceed only if you are competent or seek help. Good day

With my amplifier sony TA V902 I don't have sound out from any source.

when you amplifier is powered on if the speakers are powered on and you hear that the output is switch on then it is possible that the fault of the amplifier is in the preamplifier.Open the set and check on the input of the amplifier with a signal . If there is output the fact is confirmed of the preamp stage. Now we have to confirm if the fault is in the source swtiching or the preamp equaliser/ tone section. Using a good signal tester and hoping that you are familiar to handle the electronics inside, the IC can be identified and changed. Use extreme care and test at low output, Use a help of an expert to signal trace the fault. Hope I could help. Good day
