Hi, Please do Hard Reset. To perform a hard reset, complete the following steps: 1) Remove the battery cover from the back of the BlackBerry smartphone. 2) Remove the battery, and then reinsert it after a few seconds. 3) Replace the battery cover. Please Check if the Browser icon is hidden. If it is hide then please unhide.
Please check if the service book is available, if not then please contact your service provider to send the service book. Please check if Blackberry services are active.

Blackberry can be unlock eaisly with remote unlocking codes. you can get this Blackberry imei unlock code from your network provider or get from third party, both are safe way to Unlock your Blackberry Pearl 8100.when you go to online you can find so many sites of Blackberry imei Unlock Code. they will charge little amount for your Blackberry Unlocking Codes. i hope this will help you:) Best of Luck.
you can do this in a couple of ways. you can either call the original service provider and tell them you want the phone unlcoked for international travel OR you can try one of the pay sites located around the web, but these are sceetchy and usually a scam, unlocking a phone for use on another network or monitary gain is illegal and you can be fined if they catch you.
(I work for AT&T and take this question everyday.)
ATT does not have blackberry data plans available in prepaid options. You may have purchased a basic data package, but without the correct data plan codes for blackberry, those basic features are worthless with a bb phone.
I am actually unsure what could have caused this. It might not be unlocked correctly or could have been damaged when the software was modified. But T-Mobile carried the BB7290 so if you can get ahold of the person who unlocked it for you I would ask for a branded T-Mobile phone.
