Denon AVR 2807 with Bose Acoustimass 15

Hi there,

I have problems in connecting the Bose Acoustimass 15 speakers with the Denon AVR 5807. Something seems to be wrong with the speaker connections - the centre speaker sound is coming from the rear left speaker, the RL speaker sound coming from FR, etc.. Looks like I am doing something not right....Can someone guide me, please?

While I agree with what you said to the person asking the question (we all detest BOSE for our own reasons) but c'mon and show him the error of his ways!

Its a shame - the only real solution is to return the Bose equipment and start over with the Denon and get some speakers that are right for your room (which comes down to opinion - I went with Polk Audio which came out to a great deal) I'd recommend Polk or other brands that won't break the bank and, to this gentleman's surprise, will sound better than the BOSE.

However, I'd say that if this person wants to stick with his BOSE speakers, he should just buy a BOSE reciever (especially before he figures out that the Accoustimass module isn't really a subwoofer the way we know it to be)

Well,i can tell you are not very focus, cause you posted Denon AVR-2807 with Bose AC 15 problem, but under your details, you put down AVR-5807!
First of all,it is so unfortunate that you are NOT able to gain and experience to true ability in sound for this wonderful receiver when you are using a dual tweeters speakers and expect to have good sound separation as a TWO WAY speakers(a tweeter and a midrange-for true high frequency and mid frequency sound separation.)
Secondly, you have defeated the audio configuration of the Denon AVR-2807,since all your speakers are control BY the Bose subwoofer.
Now,i could show you a way to hook this up,and it doesn't matter how you connect them, they are the "bicycle tires" installed with a "Porche"engine if you know what i mean.
If you want a good recommendation for your "beast",i will more than happy to show you the way!
Cheers,

No sound from Russound ss-4 after connecting to BACK surround speaker connections on the 2807.

Check the speaker setup configuration in the setup menu. Many times the surround back speaker terminals can be assigned to something else like zone 2. They may just be turned off.

I am trying to hook my Bose Acoustimass 15 Series II surround speakers using a Denon AV Surround Receiver AVR-1804/884 to my Sony DVD player and Panasonic LCD TV. I have the speakers all connected...

If the speakers work with test tones this has nothing to do with them and all to do with your attachment and setup of the sources.

Stop guessing. Have you looked at all the manuals?

The other devices you're inquiring about are not named in your post. Name the makes and models first, then we'll look for the manuals. Then (maybe) find a solution. You could run them by the manufacturers' support sites or these guys...

Denon avr-1804/884, speakers Bose vcs center, Bose acoustimass 5 series 3 speaker system, Bose 201 series 4. All speakers play in test mode, with tuner, dvd, phono, cassette. The left side speakers will...

You don't say how "TV audio" is entering the system.

My guess is you're using analog audio Out from the TV into an analog input on the Denon. One channel failing would probably be the Left Channel cable failing or not seated.

I always recommend bypassing the TV audio entirely if the programming comes from somewhere other than its own antenna, as TV audio electronics add nothing good to the process.

If you're using cable box, sat box, game, whatever, ITS audio is best sent directly to your Denon's specialized audio hardware - digitally, if possible, to preserve multichannel possibilities.

You could also run standard analog audio from the cable box to the TV analog Audio IN if you just want to watch news and weather on TV speakers without the Denon involved.

Can't get the sound to work on my TV using the Denon AVR-2807

In the 2807 the HDMI out is a video out only. Audio is not processed through the HDMI output.
If you are using speakers it is best to adjust the playback modes to stereo if you are annoyed with surround sound modes.
Please comment if I helped.

Do you have outputs for both A and B speakers? If so you can easily hook the outside speakers to the B outputs.

What to use for Audio-out on Denon AVR-2807?

Hi Karmor

Use the Tape Out(rec) connections on the Denon. If that model has a rec out selector, then be sure to select phono as well. All sweet and ready to rip them files!!
