Pc just dies and it wont fire back up

Are you getting a blue screen or is it just powering off?

How long has this happened?

If it will not pass post start up first thing comes to mind is your power supply.

If you do get past it detecting your hard drives i would say it would be your operating system.

How do you fix your labtop if the log in screen is black.

  • • 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
    • 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
    • 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS
  • 2 That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

    Replace your battery.

You should be able to remove the password within the BIOS. You sure you're going to be able to sell that laptop, because it looks like it's at least 5 years behind?

    hi

in both the computers unplug the power cord and any external device attached to the system.

Press the power while the power cord if unplugged for 1 min exact, plug the power cord and see if this works. As there is extra power on the mother board which needs to be drained out

My Amilo A1630 laptop is not working. The screen will not come up at all. Power switch is turn on and the green light is on. Any ideas what is wrong?

To isolate the problem try this:

Plug your laptop to an external monitor using the monitor out port on the laptop. Hit the "function" key and the corresponding F key that has the LCD Screen/External Monitor icon. Usually around F6-F8 or so.

This will test if there is something wrong with the screen and if the laptop is booting up past the BIOS.

    Please comment back with results.

Laptop screen is black and won't come on

I'm guessing when you power it up the lights come on and it makes all the right noises.
Have you tried connecting your laptop up to an external monitor to see if that work, if so you will probably require a replacement screen or inverter board (unfortunately on most HP laptops the inverter board is incorperated in the system board). I would suggest taking it to a repair shop.
