5f 08, 5e 02, Olympus 710, Help!

My Olympus 710 fails to focus, and the lens opens and closes with a blurring image on the screen. Then the screen turns blue and shows D: 5f 08 and 5e 02. Are these error codes? What can I do about it? thanks

When I turn in my Olympus Camera, the screen background is blue and it says the following: D: 5f0a 5f08 5f0a 5f08 5f02 The camera model no. is Stylus 710

  1. Replace the batteries with new ones.
  2. The focusing ring may be stuck or jammed. Try and spray some compressed air into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have gotten in.
  3. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.
  4. Try and move the lens to the left or the right until the lens pops out.
  5. If that doesn't help, the camera will have to be totally disassembled to get at the focusing ring.

My 3 yr old Olympus stylus 710-all weather camera is displaing D : 5f08 and 5e02, the lens will open after pressing the power button than go blurry, it than closes...Any chance in a quick/easy fix? Noticed...

There is a chance you can fix this. It sounds like the focusing ring is stuck or jammed. What you can try to do is spray some compressed air ($4 at Walmart) into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.
If that doesn't help, the camera will have to be totally disassembled to get at the focusing ring. It's quite a job, but not impossible, just requires patience and remembering what goes where and how.
I wouldn't bother about having the camera repair, since the cost of repair would probably be more than a new one.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

Dropped camera. The viewer works, the recorder works - but the picture comes out blurred. I can hear it trying to adjust itself.

Hi there the camera lens guide pin is damaged after drop down. Thats why you get a noise for focusing the lens but it did't focus. After that the result is blur image. You must change the guide pin from service center. After that it will work start properly. Thanks.70ed0c8.jpg

Blurred Images with Olympus E520

When operating any digital camera, the camera tries to capture the best focus and exposure for that particular scene. By pressing the shutter button half-way down, the focus and exposure is being set. There will be a green circle on the upper left hand corner of the screen, then your camera is ready to take the picture. Slowly depress the shutter the rest of the way down to take the picture.
