Red light flashes and system not responding

Hi..my system is not responding after i restarted the system when machine got hanged. However, One day it suddenly started working and other day, when i tried to bootup the machine same problem occurs, ie. there is only power light glows with the red light on the CPU, even keyboard light is not flashing. Only monitor power lights continously blinks. I cleanup the RAM slot and re-alinged it to slot. Is this can be due to low battery(CMOS). or burnt processor, however there is no burning smell in the processor, all the CPU, power fan working fine. Please suggest me, as i would not be able to spend lots of money to call tech expert at home.

Erratic power supply, at least hope its just that and not a burnt CPU thats keeping it from posting.

Hi my computer have problem in starting. few days

Disconnect the power from the diskette-drive, from the disk-drive, and from the CD/DVD devices. Then, try to start your computer.
If it still fails, then try a different power-supply.

My pc get hang and not working

If there is a excessive heatup or a short circuit in cpu or if there is a surge in power, The systems protection mechanism kicks in and stops all the processing. The reasons might have fried up some cpu components which is why its not restarting. Try some more restarts and If the cpu is not working at all, then there must be a problem with the power supply

A8S-X restart problems

Silver Dragon isn't thinking about the problem here. It is related to the BIOS Hanging. The System doesn't POST so how could it possibly be a program?
I have the same problem with a customer computer and after reading many posts on the internet, I have come to the conclusion that these motherboards (ASUS A8S-X) are junk.
I have been building PC's since 1986 when I opened my business and sold my first custome built 286-10 system.
There is something inherantly unstable ablout these motherboards and from what I can gather, the AI for the overclocking feature is on crack and doesn't properly set itself up so that it overclocks the CPU to the point it will not operate. Many people have tried many approaches to solve this problem, but none works consistantly. My suggestion is to call ASUS and tell them you've done some reading and by now they know the design is defective and you want a replacement or refund.
The reason you can post after a reset, is that the board returns to default settings and is then pretty much useless as you can not select with boot device to use or anyhting else that is BIOS-centric. The system hangs on restart and the only way to continue is to return to BIOS Default settings nulifying the entire set-up process. The most common errors I have found to be the BIOS Checksum error and the Overclocking error.
This Board Is A JOKE. ASUS should be ashamed of themselves. REALLY!

Dont overclock the CPU, and underclock the GPU and see what happens... This should solve it, along with adding a fan or two with a thermostat!

Suddent Freeze....

Q: when the "system suddenly Freeze"...was the display working then? If not, then re-seat the video card. Also, re-seat the memory modules into their connectors.
