Hi again,

The wireing diagram is useually under the d/w. Look for a package behind the kickplate, under or behind the d/w. You don't have to have it. Just follow the power. Test the wires after the door switch (simulating that the door is latched). Test the other end of the wires. Test for power where it goes into a part then where it comes out. Eventually you will find a part where it doesn't come out. That's the part you have to change. A volt/ohm meter is all I ever use and it doesn't take a lot of time.
As far as your second question; that's a comparison worth looking at. It's my personal opinion that with the modern american d/w I'd be glad if I got six years out of it. That gives me a cost of about
$ 100 per year for automatic dishwashing. Less than that and I'd rather try a new part, more and I'd rather invest in a new d/w. I use a similar equation on any equipment. It's personal, you get to make up your own equations in life for every piece of equipment you own. Good luck!

The oven preheats to 350 then the alarm sounds the oven shuts down then E-4 is displayed ...why is it shutting down

The research I did says it's either a sensor or control board problem. Apparently people change the sensors and at least occasionally the problem is not corrected. This leads you to a control board problem. The control board is often too expensive to replace verses buying a new oven. I am not an expert, but hope this helps.

Electrolux ewt 905 has no power suppy

Hey i will help you. You need to test it with a multimeter and see if you are getting 120 volts at the control board. If you are getting voltage at the control board i would replace the control board. If you don't have any voltage at the board you need to follow where the power cord comes into the machine and start testing stuff and see where you are loosing the power. It sounds like a loose connection or a bad control board. Test a few things with a multimeter and reply back to me.

LED not working

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If you have a stuck key or non-responsive key, most of the time you will have to replace the keypad for this microwave oven repair. If your keypad is connected to your control board by a flat ribbon wire, try disconnecting it and clean the silver contacts with an ordinary pencil eraser. After cleaning, plug it back in and try it. If it doesn't fix it, replace the keypad unit. Some units actually have keypad tests to confirm your diagnosis of a bad key.If your keypad and control is the same unit, replace that unit. Another note, unlike stove/oven keypads and controls, most microwaves do not have error codes or tests to distinguish whether it is truely the keypad or control. Most of the time, it is the keypad that needs replacing, but a small percentage of the time it can be the control. Check the tech sheet if they can point you to the right part.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

Sorry to hear about your trouble shooting problems. I hope I can help move you forward in the right direction.

Have you run a self-diagnostic which is built into the Asko washer's control ? Furthermore, Did you initially receive an error code of "F6" ?

What led to the changing of the brushes in the motor, and was the motor windings ohm value checked to confirm or dismiss the motor was worth brushes ? The armature inspected ?

This how to run a fault tracing program ( in the event you don't know )

Let me know what you've done or found to this point and I'll try to help in whatever manner I can. It is possible the motor control board is the fault, but there is a means to get to that point first.

There was also a period of time during production some of the controls had the wrong fuse placed in them...se below for memo.

This is not very likely considering the age of your machine, however I felt it was worth mentioning. I'll watch for your next post.

Macmarkus :)

Test the resistor for continuity if it has a continuity readind with the power off then it is bad, you can get the replacement parts at radio shack and change the fuse and the resistor out with a soldering gun.

Heads destroyed... is it necessary to change controller board ?

Part 1: No (to my knowledge)
Part 2: Test equipment to do that test would be expensive to have for one fix.
Part 3: If you can identify the controller board as being bad, then yes. If you can't identify, then why change it?

After all is said and done, is it worth fixing? I fixed a printer for my office, it took a long time to find the replacement parts, but I got a $600 printer for about $140 in parts and labor... so in this case, it was worth it. Good luck.

LCD Panel CHange

Typically if the panel requires changing, it is less expensive to replace the entire unit. Why do you think the panel is bad? Unless it has been dropped, it is rare for the panel to fail.
