Most, if not all, free email accounts have some kind of limitations set otherwise those dratted spammers would get a free ride, wouldn't they?

I think you are experiencing system error of your mail provider, so the better thing to do is change your email provider and or signup for a new one, 'cause you have nothing to do with it by's there error that happens in every provider...unfortunately it happens to your account. Signing up for a new one is the best thing to do.

This message exceeded the Maximum Message Size set in Account Settings, so we have only downloaded the first few lines from the mail server. Click here to download the rest of the message.

These errors mean that the size of the message, including all headers, text and attachments, exceeds the domain's maximum per-message size limit - essentially, that the email is too big to be accepted.
This means that the message wasn't sent because it was too big. You need to take out something from the email to that it's small enough to send.

Delivery Status means what happened with the delivery eg sent, failed.

The recipient domain didn't accept the email because it was too large.
I would advise you to send the email in 2 smaller packages.

Send and receive up to 25MB per message. That means sharing lots of photos, music, video, and presentations without worrying about bumping up against message limits.

Not sending emails

There an be n number of reasons for not able to send emails through Outlook:
1. Your outllok is not connected to the exchage server.
2. Your mailbox size has been exceeded.
3. Your mails are stucking in the Outbox due to huge mailbox size.
4. Mail size restraction by the Exchage admin.

If you can mention the exact error message you get while sending the emails , that would help in resolving the problem.

Hope this will help you in Resolving the Outlook issue.

Some people who email me tell me that the emails bounce back to them saying my email address is ''invalid''. The same people have emailed me in the past successfully, and they can still receive my emails....

Your email address is actually not an attribute of your system or your operating system ( I say that since you've posted in the Operating System area). It is either provided by your internet service provider, or one of the other services that provides email. For ease of explanation, let's assume that you are using an email address managed by your service provider. If you are using a small-scale provider, the "invalid" message could be sent because the provider's system is overloaded. If this is the case, it would appear as an intermittent problem, sometimes it would work, sometimes not, with no apparent reason why.

Some providers establish limits on email accounts. These limits could provide symptoms like those you describe.

So, YOUR settings, influence whether or not you can download messages from your provider, they wouldn't typically influence messages (like "invalid" sent to the senders of failed messages unless the rules or limits established on your account have been violated or exceeded.

So, my best guess would be that your provider has a problem with his server, so I'd recommend the following:

(1) Have a friend who has told you of this problem send a few test messages to you. Identify if the problem happens all the time, or if some of the messages get through. (better yet have more, up to 5 do the same thing).

(2) Call your provider's customer service department and explain in detail what the problem symptoms are. It is unfortunate that most customer service departments are staffed by people limited in skills, reading scripts written by someone else. That is why it is important to do your own testing first so that you identify the problem characteristics as well as you can.

Hope this helps. Repost or send me a note if I can help farther.

I am on Windows live mail and I am trying to move emails from one inbox to another. I am receiving an error that says An error has occurred. Configuration: Port: 0 Secure(SSL): 0 Code:...

I've been having this problem, but I think I just worked out why. I'm trying to move an email with mp3s in to a hotmail account, but hotmail has an attachment limit of 10MB if I remember, this email is something like 20MB. Does your email have attachments that exceed the size limit in this other inbox? I'm not 100% sure that's what the error means but I think it's that simple.
