We have a Avaya Partner 18D phone system. When it's on Nite mode it plays the recording I created, then after a few moments it plays an automated message that says it will transfer the call, but it doesn't. We don't have voicemail set up so we just want it to hang up after our recording.

You have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
Depending on the type of vioce mail you have your administration mailbox is either 0 or 99 with a default password of either 1234 or 123456. Accessing the admin mbox can be done from any extension.
That doesn't sound good at all. I would first try powering down the system and waiting about 15 seconds or so before powering back up. If the problem remains, the processor was some how damagedand would be best if it was looked at by your vendor.
Yes, you need some sort of Music player plugged into the front of your phone system. In the front of the system you will see a single RCA plug. whatever you get, needs to plug into that.
Nope. You are stuck with that. If you want you can change the button that they press, to say....9 or something...make that a selector code transfer and it wont say "receptionist" any more.
Let me know I can help change the button press....
