a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had the same/similar problem. I don't have any copy protected music on my Nano and all of my music is in AAC so I'm still not too sure what was happening. Basically my nano would display the title track then immediately skip to the next track without playing any of them. It kept doing this until it decided to shut itself off automatically. The next time I started it up, it ran fine. I shut it down and let it be for a few hours only to find the next time I started it up, it was doing the same thing. I decided to restore the factory settings through iTunes and had to put all of my music back on my pod. Not cool. I also downloaded an update for the nano and installed it when I restored the settings. So far so good. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. Especially when I'm on the ice or on the hill.

You probably need to update the firmware of the player to version 2.9, which you can get off the philips website. This is the page for the player which has the firmware and updated musicmatch software they want you to use. Not sure if it will work with Yahoo. http://www.usasupport.philips.com/consumer/productDocuments.html?ProductCode=PSA220/17&subCat=NIKE_PHILIPS_AUDIO_PLAYERS_SU_US_CONSUMER

I do use iTunes with my sansa b/c it's convenient. None of my tracks would play until I converted them all to MPEG Layer 3 (Mp3). This seems to be my solution for now. Hope it works for you guys.

You have a corrupt file - bad file...
Corrupt files for sansa -
Plug your player in, in MSC mode.
Right-click on it.
Click "Error Checking"
Check both the boxes on the error checking window that pops up, and click start.
After it finishes, check your player to make sure your player is normal.
If that don't work then format = http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.as...

Once you insert the mp3 player, the computer automatically detect the device, were you can see the folder inside of your mp3, create a folder from file, new, folder.
Now open the folder where the music was downloaded usually you can see that file at my document, save/complited folder, select all the file, copy
Open the new folder (which you created) in the mp3 then paste the songs that was downloaded.
To play the music in the mp3 player, just find the folder you created.
