I have a toro zero turn z4200 starts and runs fine but when I put arms in gear, it will not move forward or backward.

Make sure the drives are engaged. Under the seat and towards the rear are two thin metal levers with finger loops. These are used to disengage the drives in order to push the mower when the engine is off. Levers towards the back to engage.
Good luck

Why wont clutch engage after installing new engine in 1996 chevy s10 2.2 ltr manual trans

Do you mean "disengage?" The slave cylinder may require bleeding.

As to why it might NOT engage, well that means the pressure plate may not be properly secured to the flywheel (you did tighten the bolts, right?) I don't believe you can get the thing together with the disk in backwards, but I'm not sure. I have a '98 2.2l and it trust that the mechanisms are the same. Mine has a hydraulic clutch master/slave and the slave is at the throw out bearing. Not sue fi you can put that in wrong to where it will depress the pressure plate in its rest position.

Hopefully you meant "disengage" and only need to bleed air from system!

Transmission not move forward backward

Probably. There may be a solenoid not working which is keeping the transmission from engaging the forward gear train but for it not to work at all is unusual.

My caterpillar D7F was shifting forward and backward one day we came to start the machine it wouldn't engage in reverse after sometime it stop engage forward. what could possibly be the problem?

This could be a very simple fix to an oh my god. First check your fluid levels. My initial thought is how it slowly started to stop shifting is that you need to fill your transmission fluid. If that is the case after it is full then you will be able to shift fine. Second part of your problem then is finding out where it is leaking and get that fixed. If it is just a leak count your blessings, fix it before using it again and always check your fluid levels often.

I have a celebrity scooter that powers up great and every thing seems to operate properly except it will not go forward or backward. It makes no sound when engaging thumb switch.

Make sure the drive lever/freewheel brake is engaged. Usually it is on the lower back bottom of the scooter or check your owner's manual.
Good luck!

The tractor will not go forward or backward it starts right up but will not engage

1) The drive belt between the engine and transmission has broken or jumped off a pulley.
OR
2) Your hydrostatic transmission is dead.

DO NOT STICK YOUR FINGERS UP INSIDE A RUNNING MOWER TO SEE IF THE DRIVE BELT IS MOVING.

I suggest changing the belt for a new one, in fact if this model has 2 belts, replace them both.
I ran 2 laundromats... this occured frequently due to over loading the machine and then the belt would get damaged just enough to foul up the proper agitation and the spin/drain cycle.
Just change the belts and i'll bet that will get you back into service!

Let me know.

Agitator stops when sweeper is pulled backward

If you have made no changes to the vacuum's setup and are using it on same carpet you have previously used it on with no problem, then the most likely cause is the agitator/beater bar's drive belt is worn or on some models may have a tension adjustment which is set too loosely. This can also be caused by having the vacuums height adjustment set to low for the carpet or flooring you are using it on, causing to much drag when the vacuum is pulled backwards for the agitator to overcome.

The vast majority of agitators turn in a forward direction, as if it would pull the vacuum forward, when you pull the vacuum backwards the drag is increased.

So...First check height adjustment (a no cost fix), then check out the tension adjustment (if present on you model, some engage when top of vacuum is tilted back after stepping on the release pedal) Lastly, consider changing belt especially if you have had the vacuum awhile or if it gets a fair amount of use or it you seem to need to use it on a low height setting all the time to vacuum up debris.

Hope this helps!
