Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My HP OJ 7310 all-in-one did not pick up papers.

The printer display repeatedly told me to put papers into the tray and hit OK, which actually had plenty of papers, about 30 sheets. I took out the papers and put them back neatly time after time and hit OK accordingly, but the printer simply would not pick up papers. Please advise a solution.

Yes, the printer clicking continuously and something sounded moving aimlessly.

I used a flash light to look into the printer from the paper tray side. As soon as I hit OK, I saw the two ink cartridges went to the left side and then cycled in short distance about two three times with light bumping sound. All the rubber rollers are rotating, but the upper long rollers, which I thought was suppose to come down to carry the upper sheet of the papers forward to the feeding rollers at the back, stayed put. I think this is the problem. Is this a mechanical problem or an electronical sensing problem? Please advise.

I could grap the large wheels and rotate them, but I needed to use a certain amount of force and they did not rotate freely.

I am quite handy. I service my own car and repair mechanical watches during my younger years. Maybe with your detailed instruction or a few pages of repair manual emailed to me, I could service the feed roller Please advise.

Do you hear the paper feed rollers turning? Does it make any noise?

The first ting I would do is clean the paper feed rollers with a cotton pad and alcohol. The rollers may have a build up of paper dust that are makind the rollers slip.

The feed motor may be bad. try rotating the with your fingers . see if they move freely

If that is the case, the feed roller is bad. needs service.

How to fix error 41.3 on a HP P4515 printer. Have checked all paper settings and tray settings.Changed paper pick up rollers also.

Hi

This error means that the media in tray XX doesn't meet the specified standard of the tray. The specified tray is loaded with media that is longer or shorter in the feed direction than the size configured for the tray. Please check the paper size in current tray or touch OK to change the tray.
To resolve this issue Touch OK to display tray size. Reconfigure the size in the tray so that it uses size of media required for the print job. If the message doesn't clear automatically from the control-panel display, turn the MFP off, and then turn the MFP on.

Restart the printer and repeat the above procedure if issue is not resolved.

My hp printer is telling me that i need to add

Not sure what printer you have but most consumer models don't actually detect paper in the tray. These machines will give an out of paper error if the paper is not picked up from the tray.
If the machine sounds like it is trying to pick up the paper but giving the error check and clean the pick up roller and look for something blocking the paper path.
hope this helps

Hi my printer doesn't pull paper from tray1 even if it set to pull paper automatically from tray 1 and 2 inadditon to this it needs manuallly feed papers.

My HP OfficeJet 7310 behaved correctly on the automatice paper feed for a long time and then began to be unable to pick up the page or would grab 2 or 3 pages at once. I was about to spend the $$$ to replace it, maybe $400 at that time. Instead I watched it work again and angin or not work. Noice the 1 inch square piece of cork? I went to Hobby Lobby and for less than $2 bought a roll of very thin cork. I cut an inch square and replaced the one on the machine and it has worked perfectly since. I still have 99% of the cork roll. What it?

Paper Jam on

most printers are pretty cheap now so replacement is always an option....on the other hand, I will spend countless hours trying to figure out what is wrong first. Remove all paper first, open printer and check for pieces of torn paper or debris, if you have a can of air you can blow out the insides to clean. Put 3 or 4 sheets of paper in, print a test page and watch carefully how paper advances...is it straight or crooked when being loaded? Is printer trying to pull more than 1 sheet at a time? Good luck
