My understanding is that a webcam is only a webcam not a webcam+mic (mic=microphone for sound to be input) unless your webcam has video and sound capabilities.

1. get a mic
2. if you webcam is supposed to be also a mic, (I have yet to see one of those myself) you should hook up the connector for the microphone (usually a a red trs plug/connector) to your pc.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)

are you trying to hear what the other person is saying when having a video conversation?
1. check your speakers are properly connected, powered and turned on.
2. check your speakers (and mic aswell) are not muted (check your speaker icon on the system tray and check your volume controls by doing right and/or left click on the speaker icon on the system tray.
3. make sure your have run the video/sound wizard of your instant message application to test your video, mic and speakers. (to see, talk and be heard and hear what the others are saying)
4. make sure your sound adapter's drivers are installed and your device is working properly (check device manager by going to start>run> type devmgmt.msc the press enter and make sure that under sounds you don't have any ? (no drivers) or ! driver problem for your sound adapter.

I bought new lenova ideacentre desktop 2 days back. My sound recorder is not clear. means i get some rash sound while recording though i changed the level to 99. help me!!!

If the noise you are getting is a pulsing at the same frequency all the time you will need to find a different monitor. As the power supply is causing interference. but if you are getting the problem while recording with a microphone, then you need to earth your mic properly.

How to to instal logitech webcam

Logitech webcam usually comes with a CD to install software and drivers. If you are using windows 7 your computer should recognize Logitech Webcam when you connect it to your computer's USB port! Its necessary to have internet connection for your computer and Logitech webcam is just plug and play that means!
Just connect the webcam to your computer and remaining is done automatically!
Also drivers for logitech webcam are available online at their site www.logitech.com
good luck!

My webcam will not work

When you go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers, do you see an webcam icon? It probably won't say HP Webcam but more likely "USB Composite Device". If it isn't there, you'll need to install driver software for the webcam to function. If it is there then right click the icon, click on Properties and look at the General and Hardware tabs to make sure you see HP Webcam in there. You may also want to check to see if it states that the "device is working properly".

I've just bought an IBM s51 p4 3.2ghz 1gbram, what are the recommended sound and graphics cards for high quality gaming ?

you should have at least 1gb of memory in video card and then add another 1gb on the memory module so that it will work fine.

I have no cd for mikomi webcam model M6517Z can you help?

If you're running Windows XP or higher, it should detect your webcam automatically and download a driver for you to use, even without a disc. If you're running an older version of Windows, or it doesn't work, you may want to check the bottom of your webcam for a specific model number or name here is a link where you can get a webcam driver evern though its not its real one

Bought a used Logitech X-530 5.1 speaker system. The driver installation disc was lost.the Logitech site was an exercise in futility. Please help me!

Hi mate,

You have to download the latest driver for your sound card for it to have the 5.1 support. For instance, I had to download the RealTek driver pack and install it, then double click the red Realtek icon in the bottom right hand corner of my screen, and go to advanced settings and set the preferences for each speaker and each of the 3 input ports on my computers sound card.

If you have a Realtek card then, you want the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R2.11, you can find it here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/173933659/WDM_R211.zip

and the Vista one is here:
http://rapidshare.com/files/173930788/Vista_R211.zip

That's for my setup though, if you have a Soundblaster card, it'll be the newest Creative driver you want..
Figure out which one you have from your device manager in the system part of the control panel and then google search for the card brand followed by the word 'driver', and check the download page to make sure it supports your card's model number.

Good luck

I have a mac G3, and have os x ver. 10.3.9 I just bought the logitech E3560 webcam, how can I install it? It's not loading anything from the installation disk!

It sounds like your camera is not compatible with Mac OS. The disc may only have the software for Windows. Go to Logitech web site and see if you can find the software for Mac.

Insert the Webcam, and then run the installation disc. Logitech has very good and clear directions on how to install the device.
