Question about Kenmore 22062 Top Load Washer
I've had this washer for 6-7 years and it works great, but lately when I pull clothes out after washing some of the laundry has a slimey gunk on it. Sometimes it's just spots of wet lint that come right off, but other times it's like sludge that is stuck in the folds. I'm wondering if there's a filter or something I need to clean?
you can remove the bottom access panel to get to the drain pump. there might be something in the coin trap.

SOURCE: washing machine lint trap
There is no trap per say. The lint catcher is self cleaning when the water is pumped out. It sounds like you are overloading it and the clothes are hitting the agitator. Operation should be agitation by water movement not beat by the plastic fins, run a wash cycle hot water no clothes to flush things out and try smaller loads.

Sears top load / direct drive washers don't have specific Lint Filters.
See the Use and Care manual for these washers for hints.
