Same problem w/ Marantz AV Surround SR7000 Receiver. Clipping started after hooking up a pair of surround speakers. Sound cuts off for a few seconds and then returns. Is this problem worth having fixed? How much to fix?

I've got it too, but in my case, it can't see the sound signal. everything works on s-direct mode. But as soon as I switch to normal mode, no more sound. I've already replaced the cs49023 (or something like that) audio decoding chip. still the same problem...

I have a marantaz sr7200 and all the audio outputs have quit working. What might be the problem?

Sounds to me like something fried. If no output are working, but the rest seems to be. Are you talking like digital audio out, or speaker terminals. Could be an internal relay. or single audio plugin board. Not sure how it's set up on the inside.

I have a marantz sr7200 receiver and i am unable to get sound when its in DSS mode. The sound works in dvd and tuner modes.

In the setup menu, did you set up the input assignments for DSS to be the correct digital input or analog?

I have a Marantz SR7200. I have been using for a long time with 6ch stereo with no problem. Suddenly, it starts to make a lot of noise on front speakers in any mode. It just stops this noise when source...

Hello Sergio.

Sounds like a bare wire (speaker wire) most probably is touching your SR's metal body.

Remove all speaker cables, re-terminate them clean (cut, trim, and twist again) and then re-plug them in to the binding posts.

When you go puredirect, it overcoms some filtering circuits of the board and this should be the reason why it stops.

Try that & advise.

UK, I have a sr7200 but no remote! Are there any compatable ones out there? I have been quoted £250.00 for a replacement

I bought a RC3200 programmable remote after my dog chewed the origional unit. £30 off ebay, works a great. It comes preprogrammed for all Marantz units. Only problem is that it is a bit hard on batteries.

Most likley, if I'm right, you have heard some staitcy, crackly noises, accompanied with this failure. If so, the problem is without a doubt on the D.S.P. board, witch is the one with the optical jacks on it, The culprits would then be I.C. 719 & I.C. 720. This is a common problem with this model, and the sr6200 & 5200 as well. A low tech method to confirm this is to touch IC 720 (the smaller one) while it's on. If you can keep your fingertip on it for at least ten seconds, it's ok, and the problem is elsewhere. If not, (IT WILL BE VERY HOT) the the board must be removed (27 screws from left to right) and replace BOTH IC719 & IC720.

Marantz support question

This is the problem with computerized stereo's. The old analog stuff we could fix forever, but many of these digital problems, only the maker has the tools to repair. Feel fortunate that yours will even offer you support, even though expensive.
Good luck.
