Question about Televison & Video
We have an Orion TV (13 inch----Model TV1334C) that we're trying to hook up to use with a digital TV converter box. When we try to put it on channel 3 in order to use the box, it won't stay on that channel. We've tried punching the number 3 and also using the add/delete channel feature. No matter which one we use, as soon as we get it, it immediately changes to a red "del" and deletes it!! How can we get it to stay on 3? This TV was previously our son's, and he said that he remembered that you had to "set" it some way to get it to work. The manual is lost. Any idea how to get this to work? We're enjoying beautiful digital TV on another set---no problem getting it hooked up and going, but this Orion TV is proving to be quite a challenge!! Thank you for any help you can offer!!

SOURCE: can't get any tv reception
How do you expect a picture, without any Signal input? Just get any Rabbit Ears Indoor Antenna. Ore, if u wanna first try out, just push a length of Electrical Wire approximately 3-4 feet long into the Antenna socket at the rear of the TV, and then do Auto search. You will be able to view a few local channels - tho a little grainy. If u are satisfied, good, otherwise, then get an antenna.

SOURCE: Cannot set Cable Default Channel
I believe you are getting mixed up between channels and programs. Normally program 00 is used for VHS as it has slightly different parameters for colour and brightness. If the TV has about 39 or more programs which can be programmed in from the on screen menu, try using program 20 for the video and 30 for the cable. For this to work you must do the on screen frequency scanning from channels 22 to 69 (UK) and select VCR, CATV, VHF, UHF, etc. I have used program 00 and 20 for two VHS recorders, working on channel 33 and 35 for example, but you must tune them to 33 and 35 on the `Tune' screwdriver hole by the aerial input sockets of the recorders. I expect if your cable unit plugs into your aerial socket of the TV that it has an adjustment for what channel it is on. The TV on screen menu may be different in some countries, so it would help if I knew where you are.

I wonder if the RF interference from the digital tuner. That box will only allow ouput either through the coax or the AV ports. If you do both you will not get a picture.
If you switch them you have to tell the box what your using for output by going through the setup process.
Is the Zenith 901 converter box for your cable TV.
