Question about LG DLG5932W Gas Dryer

1 Answer

Dryer not Heating up

I have an DLG5988B Gas Dryer (LG). It does not heat up anymore (2yrs old). I have taken it apart and checked the thermostats Hi and Safety and they both are fine except that I broke the hi limit thermostat upon removal of the wires. I checked the flame sensor contacts and found continuity threw the contacts (should they be NC or NO. I also cleaned the lint from the igniter assembly and tube because it was nasty. What else could keep the dryer from heating up? I have to wait a week to get the new thermostat before I conduct a test to see if the lent was holding me out.

Thanks

LG Dryer not heating at all. DLG4802W gas dryer. Already replaced two thermostats Thermostat 6931EL3003C and Thermostat Assembly 6931EL3004B and still not heating. Only 18 months old.

Check your igniter, if that does not get hot enough it will not open the gas valve. If it does not glow at all check for voltage if voltage is present 120vdc replace igniter.

I HAVE A LG DLG2532W GAS DRYER. IT WILL NOT DRY. I HAVE TAKEN IT APART AND CAN SEE THE HEATING ELAMENT HEATING UP. CAN U HELP

Safety First, Unplug Dryer. There are two thermostats in the dryer. They are on the exhaust tube that houses the burner element and the ignitor. One is on the top half of the exhaust tube near the dryer wall and the other is on the bottom half of the exhaust tube toward the center of the dryer. The one on the bottom half of the exhaust tube in the one with the reset button.pull off right access port cover, look in and left for thermostat hanging down off of exhaust tube. Press button between the two wires going to thermostat. It is a 3 minute operation if you can get to the right side access port. hope this helped Tim

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

Taken to long to dry

IF ELECTRIC

Check the following areas thoroughly to address this issue.

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat.

3. Heating element
A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

IF GAS

HI, Check the following to address this issue further.

Note: Normal drying time for a dryer is about 45 minutes (some may take up to an hour).
