Maytag fridge works but freezer doesn't

Try the control relay/ condenser thats attached to the compressor and provides a momentary spike to start the compressor start windings prior to the unit going into run mode. reasonable and easy to fix

GE Performance Profile TFX25PPBB Freezer Defrosting

you may have a fault you may not. if the fridge is ok then the freezer is going through an automatic cycle. If the freezer is not working then the fridge will soon follow.
likely faults causing this are; thermistors; worn out compressor motor; degassed compressor/receiver (can become hot and sluggish if lost gas/lubricant mix; dirt around the fan maybe causing it to be sluggish too. make sure you unplug it before touching anything!

My kenmore fridge model 56723 is not cooling that is the fridge side. the fan is spinning very well but the compressor is very hot. funny enough the freezer appears to be cooling okay

Its defrost problem, the freezer should cool, then freeze, then defrost cycle should start. In your case freezer is cooling, then freezing, but its not defrosting. That's why fridge section is not cooling.-------

The panel separating my side by side refrigerator from the freezer is hot - nearly to the point of burning. Kenmore model 10653606202

  1. check if the evaporator fan motor is running (inside the freezer)
  2. Same for the condenser fan motor on the bottom in the back of the fridge
  3. Clean condenser coils underneath or in the back of the fridge
  4. if there is a frost on the back wall in freezer - you've got the defrost problem, check defrost heater, defrost bimetal thermostat, and defrost timer

May be ice build up - happened with mine. Had to defrost completely (unplug for 24+ hours) then it worked fine on restarting.

Fridge/freezer warm, water puddling underneath

Hi, clicking sound from compressor, means compressor not running (working) compressor overlay relay is what making that clicking sound, possible your compressor have a hard start, you can purchase compressor ( hard start kit ) from appliance store, your fans could be working, but compressor short cycling, you said fan not working? which one inside of ref, or one near to compressor, check fan, remove 2 wires from fan terminal, use ohm tester, place tester lead one on each fan terminal, if you get a beep sound (continuity) fan is o/k, if not, fan burnt out, replace fan, now if compressor is good, fans are good, then check or replace, defrost timer, but before doing any repairs, unplug ref, excessive water is because ref defrosting, because there's no refrigeration, remove your produce, leave ref. off for about an hour, then replug it, let it work for about another hour, then check to see if temp. dropping (colder) maybe you experiencing, low voltage, let me know what happened, then i can tell you exactly, what's the problem. good luck.

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

Fridge & Freezer not cooling.

Welshons, You want to make sure that the condensor fan is still running. Your evaporator fan, located behind the panel in the freezer should be running too unless you are in defrost. Your compressor should be running, it may have gotten real hot from the condensor fan not operating and is kicking off on overload. Once it cools down it should restart. Your condensing coils should be warm to the touch if the compressor is running. Right behind the temp. controls you will see a hole in the control cover. In that hole is the defrost timer. You can take a flat blade screw driver and turn the notch clockwise slowly to see if you are in defrost. It will click and the freezer fan should start running,(if it's in defrost). Just a gut feeling tells me either your condensor fan is still not functioning right or your compressor is too hot to start. Check the above out and let us know, Catriver...post back.
