Fisher & Paykel Out of Balance

I distribute my loads very carefully but jeans and towels get out of balance quite often. I am not overloading the machine and we have leveled the machine. The problem persists and the machine gets so loud that we have to go in multliple times to try to redistribute clothing to make the cycle complete. I do not feel comfortable leaving the house with a load of clothes in the washer for fear this problem will occur.

We have the same problem. No matter how carefully I place the clothes in the washer, the load becomes unbalanced and won't drain.

I have the Fisher and Paykel model GWL15 and could not be more disapointed with it. It has been leveled more times than I can count, and 9 out of 10 times it goes out of balance and beeps. It takes me 3 hours to do a small load, and that is with me placing every sock and shirt carefully opposite one another. This thing is just pure junk, and it makes me sick to think what I paid for it. I will just place it on the curb and buy a cheap washing machine to replace it. My blood boils every time I come to the basement to check the wash and hear that stupid beep! I love the dryer, but do yourself a huge favor and don't ever buy a Fisher and Paykel product.

I agree. Told repair shop that i wished i had a duet front loader. have not liked the FP from day one and the price--OUCH! I have a Duet front loader washer and dryer in my 2nd home and love them. daughter in laws have them too and love them.

FP--doesn't hold much. Not supposed to wrap anything around the agitator--how do you wash sheets or blankets or anything large? i take my large comforters to the laundromat. I end up manually choosing high water setting and Heavy Duty on FP to get clothes clean.

Hate this product and would not recommend to anyone.

Neighbor has new FP double oven. She has it repaired so many times that FP is giving her a new one--repairman is tired of fixing and says it is a lemon.

Is it possible that there is clothing between the plastic outer tub and the wash tub that is shifting and causing the out-of-balance issue? I would remove the top of the washer by taking out screw covers and removing 2 screws--look between the 2 tubs for articles of clothing.

If nothing there, then go under washer and take off black motor/white plastic housing (removes as one unit) and see if there is something way down the drainage area. The removal is pretty easy. There is a clip/latch where the white plastic butts up to the bottom of the washer. It's like the childproof cap. Push the clip with your finger and give the whole unit a twist to remove. I found this on another website, ths.gardenweb.com/forum/laundry after I spent $65 having a repairman show me how to remove mine!! Look at my post "eco smart won't drain, smells hot" to see my issues on removing this piece and finding husband's sock in drain area.

Read on ths.gardenweb.com/forum/laundry for FP that there is an "out of balance" sensing lever on the right rear corner of the machine--sounds like it is on the exterior as the poster warns not to lay the machine on its back for fear of breaking this lever. Possibly this lever is broken or stuck?

Maybe it isn't out of balance. Maybe the reason it stops is because it cannot drain. I would remove the motor/white plastic unit from bottom. I used a dog bowl to catch the water after I pulled the sock through the hole in the bottom of the tub. The hole into the tub where i found the sock is where the black motor/white plastic unit connects to the tub. you can't see this area by looking between the outer tub/inner tub from above. At least I couldn't see it from the top.

My GE washer GTW460NMKwww, the drum will not balance itself when going into final spine cycle.

Are the clothes evenly distributed inside the drum and the washer not overloaded? The drum is not self balancing, you must take care when loading it to even the weight distribution

Hotpoint top load unbalanced

Darla heavy objects such as towels and jeans not evenly distributed in the washer will cause this to occur, open lid let washer come to a stop and then reposition clothes

If it is unbalanced as in the whole machine rocks even when not running then the rear levelers are out of position, pull top of washer towards you tilting the whole machine, towards you, the rear levelers will self adjust unless jammed, you may need help tilting the unit

During spin cycle, washer vibrates hard and dances across the floor. How do I stop this? Top load mid-eighties model. THX

It sounds like it is out of balance or not level. First check to make sure your load is distributed evenly.. If the load is even try to level the machine. Some models have self-leveling legs on the back. Try this- with washer in place stand in front of it and tilt it slightly towards you lifting the back off the ground about 2-3 inches. Then set it back down. Try another load. If that doesn't work you may have one of the stabilizing springs that is broken. In that case, you will need to call a repairman.

What does UE fault mean? & what do I have to do?

UE means the washer has experienced a severe out of balance condition during the spin cycle, do not overload the washer and if necessary reduce the wash load size, distribute the items in the washer more evenly, this is especially true with heavy items like towels and jeans,.

My washer bangs and goes off balance in the spin cycle. It has been leveled and is not off balance.

Without knowing the type of washing machine that you are using I can tell you generally that:
First make sure that the washer is level. There should be leveling legs on the machine that you can screw or unscrew to level it.
And that there are several causes of this problem.

1. Load is too large for the machine. Be sure not to stuff the washer full. The items should have room to move around.
2. Items being washed are not of similar weight so that they unbalance easily (Wash jeans with jeans/knits with knits/towels with towels)
3. Items are poorly loaded (in a top loader). Distribute the items well.
4. Front loading washers on platforms with drawers, etc. are very prone to this problem. We finally took our off the drawer/ platforms and the problem went away. After a couple of service calls that helped not at all.
5. Front loaders sometimes have this problem if they are installed on a "soft floor" such as Laminate flooring. You can help this by placing a thick rubber-backed rug or a piece of plywood underneath your machine.

These are the solutions that I have learned from my own experience. I hope that these ideas help you.

WHIRPOOL washer model LSR8010PQ0, WHEN LOADED WIT...

If large items in the machine create an imbalanced load the machine is designed to switch off...Towels are notorious for doing this because they hold so much water. Jeans don't soak up much water. Wash towels with towels alone and the problem should be reduced....Good luck....Nomess

My 9150 doesn't spin well and my clothes are very wet, when they come out. Then when I try to spin & drain only, it wants to run for 4 hours. Looking at the problems how good of a product did I buy.

from the description you are giving, i would guess that: 1. the "coin-catcher" ahead of the pump is plugged. 2. the tub is overloaded. 3. the loads are heavy, bulky [ blankets, jeans, towels]. when a load is too big or it is all very absorbent materials, the machine tries to balance the load before it goes into a final spin, it will not spin on high if it cannot balance - remember, ten towels or pairs of jeans soaked with water is darned heavy - mix the loads i'm familiar with this machine because i have one, i repair washers and dryers as part of my job, in my opinion, the duet is the best and most reliable washer available

Very noisy on spin cycle, not out of balance

Hi, check leveling of machine, machine should be proper leveled on all side, use spirit level to adjust legs, there should be no rocking motion, in any direction after leveling, put hands on top of machine and try to rock it sids to side, there should be no movements, also check for overloading, be careful when washing things like bath towels, etc, they absorb lots of water, eg. one regular bath towel are equivalent, to six pants, six tops. or possible springs or bushings broken, you need open machine and check.
