Question about Maytag 21 cu.ft. Top Mount Refrigerator, MTF2172HR
This is a new problem, as soon as you put in the plug, it blows my circtuit.
I don't think it'st the breaker, When you plug it in to a power strip, it blows the power strip's breaker.
We bought it used, after about 2 months, had to change the "Brain" of the Fridge, as the repairman called it. (Looks like a skinny red bull can, with wires connected to the fan, and, compressor.
You guys are gonna LOVE this one.
I called a local appliance repair man, who said it sounds like the compressor.
He went on to tell me if it was the compressor, I would have forked over $75.00 to him, and, now need a new fridge, as it's probably not worth to replace.
I was a bit angry, so, deciding what to do, I started snooping around the back of the fridge.
Everything back there looks brand new, and clean, so I was starting to think it wasn't the compressor.
I put in a new breaker in the circuit panel, and, still blew.
As I was behind the fridge, I grabbed the power cord, and felt something strange- looked down, the power cord was cut through and twisted, exposing the little wires inside, and, visibly crossing them.
So, I'm going to go to the appliance store, and see if they have a replacement power cord.
