HP Laserjet 2100 Printer Problem

Hello, my Laserjet 2100 printer has begun doing something odd: the first several pages come out splattered with some oily clear or yellowish substance that smells a bit like buttered popcorn. I've never had that happen before. Any ideas? Much appreciated in advance.

Hp Laser Jet P2055dn printing black line down the middle

Hello,

The line in the middle of the page is caused by a damaged or worn fusing assembly in the printer. Here is a link to an article showing this issue on the Laserjet 2100 printer and how to replace the fuser unit. Your printer just needs to have the fuser replaced, it is part number RM1-6405 and is available from Amazon

I got a new computer but an old printer and I need the driver for it. It's a Hp officejet 2100 tn. I worried I'm going to download the wrong one and get virus's.

Hello,

All versions of windows since Win XP have had the driver for the Laserjet 2100 built in. When you connect your printer to the computer and reboot it should say 'found new hardware' and load the correct driver automatically.

Hp 2420 leaves vertical line across the page. we changed the fuser 7 months ago

Hello,

It sounds like you may need to change it again. These printers use a Teflon coated heat roller in the fuser. If you print envelopes that will scar the heat rolller, this can also happen if there is a piece of paper jammed in the fuser assembly and it scraped the fuser roller. Open the back of the printer and look at the roller in the fuser. I would bet that you see the roller is damaged. Here is a link to a post about the Laserjet 2100 printer with the same issue. It has pictures of the roller and what to look for, the fuser is different but the principle is the same.

Hi, my printer is printing a test page but it's not clear at the left side of my page.what could be the cause of this problem?it's hp laserjet 2100/m/tn

This may be one of several things.

When you rub your finger over the unclear parts, does the image come off and feel grainy.
If so your fuser unit is not fusing the image corectly.

Have you tried another drum unit in the machine, it may be that the problem is on the drum unit and that the image is not transferd corectly.

HP LaserJet 2100 will not stop printing nonsense when I have cancelled and cleared the print memory. It's going through tons of paper and turning it off, along w/the computer, for several minutes does not...

The "nonsense" is your printer trying to interpret the information. Go to HP.com and download the correct drivers. Delete all other drivers from the Printers and Faxes/File/Server Properties. Then install your correct print driver

How old is your toner cart?
Have you given the toner a little shake lately?

Is there paper wrapped around the fuser causing only a partial printout?
