Fuel shutoff? Are you talking abouty the inertia switch? Are you aware that you will only have power to the inertia switch and to the fuel pump for about 2 seconds when the ignition switch is turned from OFF to RUN? If you are checking for voltage here after that time, you are not SUPPOSED to find any.

If you are not getting any voltage there during the 2-second "fuel prime" cycle, then you need to check your fuel pump relay circuits. (Primary AND secondary)

disconnect the fuel line near the engine (usually at the throttle body assembly) and turn the key to ..run..position..listen for a buzzing of the pump..if you dont hear it or see liquid shooting out of the fuel line..theres no power to the pump or it may be bad..if it comes on but no fuel..be looking at the filter under the car by the front of the gas tank.. it may be plugged up..you can also check the pump for operation by powering it up manually at the pumps connector near the gas tank..if it works there..there is an auto shutoff relay that controlls the pump and the ignition.. it may be bad also..

1994 Mazda PU Truck sometimes won't start if shutoff for 5-10 minutes.. Several tries later, it will start. spark seems ok, it gets enough fuel for a second, but then poops out. fuel pump shuto

Well there is no shutoff relay, but there is a fuel pump relay that powers the pump.
I would check it first. The computer grounds the relay for 3 seconds when you crank the engine to boost fuel pressure. Once the engine starts the pump is powered only if you have oil pressure.

IS THERE A FUSE THAT ALLOW GAS TO SPRAY THROUGH

Your vehicle doesn't have a carburetor. What you poured gas into was the throttle body. Does it stay running once it starts? You really should check the fuel pressure to be sure but not everyone has a gauge. Changing the fuel filter would definitely be a good start. If that doesn't do it, check the fuses for the fuel pump and check the fuel pump relay. If they check out make sure the power is actually getting to the fuel pump, check the ground wire of course also. If you have good power and ground at the pump and no fuel you will have to replace the pump most likely.

I have a 2001 Bravada. The vehicle will crank and turn over but it wont start. I have replaced the cam shaft sensor and the fuel pump relay and the rotor bug. I dont think it is the fuel pump because i...

ok... Wait we have to settle some things here. You can get the vehicle started by pouring fuel down the throttle body, if so then it is most definatley a fuel pump problem. I usually try to bang on the tank with a rubber malle while cranking the engine. if it starts then its the pump, the simplest way to check is to see if your getting power at the fuel pump assembly. If you are then you need to change the pump the power wire is the grey one on the tank.

99 silverado 4.3 vortec. engine turns over rapidly. plenty of spark. fuel pump runs. fuel filter not clogged. when i pour gas into the throttle body it runs until that gas runs out. what gives?

put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Check my specs because I am doing this from memory but I think it has to have at least 61 psi and anything below about 55 is not enough. I once put a brand new from the dealer on my bravada. Abter it still did not start I replace the "injector spider" to the tune of 400 buck my cost for the part only to find that the brand new feul pump was not getting enough pressure. Section 4 in a haynes manual at the parts store will give you the minimum fuel pressure.

No power to fuel pump

What you need to do is drop the fuel tank and put a new fuel pump in it. I would drain the gas and put new gas in after you get the pump changed.

Losing power to fuel shutoff relay

The power for the shutoff relay actually comes from a secondary winding on the ignition coil itself. Why the enging would shut the fuel pump off is that as the engine ran for a while the coil gets warm and then breaks down or opens up the circuit for the fuel shutoff relay. Fixed by replacing $85.00 coil.
