You can find a datasheet by searching for CXD9841P although that probably is a proprietary number

I have a techwood st67 3-disc changer that doesn't always recognize a cd much less actually read it... any ideas?

The laser diodes2.gifwhich read the disc weaken over time and the lens can become dirty.Remove the case and you will see the 4mm dia. lens on the assembly riseup to read the disc when inserted. Eject the disc and lightly wipe thelens clean with a cellulose acetate Q tip or head cleaning cloth withjust a small amount of disc/optic/lens cleaner. Try playing the disc. Ifit will not read any discs then the laser diodes are to weak to read orthere is a malfunction in the digital signal processing2.gif board. Unless it is under warranty, you will need another unit.

Wireless speakers will not work.

Post the Model #'s of the products involved and I can be a little more specific. Using generic troubleshooting, First: make sure you have the wires for the receiving unit of the wireless speakers hooked up to either "A" Front or "B" Front. thenmake sure your receiver speaker switch for the corresponding location is on. It will light up on the front of the receiver either A, B, or both. Now, turn on the AV receiver and Tune it to a strong radio signal in your area, turn up the volume 1/4 to 1/2 way. Power the wireless units on. Both the speakers and their receiver should have a power button or at least a light to let you know they are getting signal. keep the speakers close and fine tune the wireless receiver with them until the led light on the front of the speakers is solid. You should have good audio at this point.

The other way the wireless receiver is hooked up is with RCA cables to the AV receiver. Without knowing what AV receiver you have, plug the RCA's into an "Output" like "Front Main Pre Out" or "VCR/Tape2 mon" or just plain "Monitor out" Depending on which Output you use will determine the setting on the receiver. If you need further clarification, post your equipment model numbers and I can tell you exactly what to do. Hope this helps

"no disc" error when disc present

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your optic is out of align. If it's an expensive unit, it may be worth repair. When you send it out, they just replace the transport. Average cost between $100-$150 thru Sony direct. Hope this helps.

Cant rest my m3p player

if you have no book for the player try to contact the element website if this fails and if it's possible you can remove the battery for a minute or so, but if you can't take the unit apart there should be a very small hole somewhere on the player, this may not be easy to find but if you do stick something of the correct size into the hole and push it down slightly, this is how many players reset, also try holding down the power button for at least a minute and see if this works.

Pace Sky plus box

You have 2 choices, software reset or hardware reset. It's up to you what you try, but please read the advice in full before starting - if you break your box, please don't blame me!

SOFTWARE RESET
The following is copied from http://www.ecademy.com/node.php?id=73309

This is useful if your disk usage percentage doesn't go down even after clearing programmesfilms off.

The following is offered on an ADVICE only basis, take care when making changes:

WARNING following this advice is totally at your discretion and anything which happens to your digibox as a result is your responsibility, not mine. You will lose all recorded programmes from your Sky+ Planner.

Sky tech support can talk you through performing a system restore over the phone. To do this yourself, press 'services' on your Sky plus remote, then select option 4. Next press 0, 1, select - you should now see the engineer's menu. Choose option 8, 'Full System Reset'. The box will now take a few minutes to reset itself

Try pausing or recording again, and if the problem persists disconnect the digibox from the mains power. Press and hold the 'left' and 'right' navigation buttons on the front of the digibox whilst you reconnect the mains power. Continue holding the buttons in for about 20 seconds, and when the ring of light on the front comes on, press the 'select' button on the front of the digibox (between the left and right buttons you were holding). The Sky+ recording logo lights will spin backwards and, according to the Sky engineer, this will "clear the hard drive".

Once this is done, disconnect the digibox from the mains power again and this time press and hold the 'back up' button whilst you reconnect the mains power. Continue holding it for about 15 seconds until 3 lights on the front of the box come on and you get a full-screen message saying "Updating system software. Do not disconnect mains supply or satellite dish."

Leave the digibox doing its thing for about 10 minutes and it should be fixed! Try pausing and recording things again... hopefully you've just saved yourself £65

If you've not been so lucky, you'll have to get Sky to fix it for you. Some people report that if you ask to cancel your subscription Sky sometimes offer a free callout to fix the problem - you're more valuable to them as a paying customer than the cost of an engineer callout

Sky customer service's (seemingly unpublished) freephone number. You need to dial 0800 731 6965, then option 2, option 4 March 9, Sky have closed this Freephone number
HARDWARE RESET
Copied from http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=484098

Full System Reset via front panel:
  1. Remove power at mains.
  2. Hold LEFT+RIGHT.
  3. Apply power, wait for ring to light.
  4. Release LEFT+RIGHT, press SELECT.
  5. Ring cycles backwards while disk is quick formatted.
  6. If format sucessful PLAY lights up, if not RECORD lights up.
  7. Box goes into standby - wait 30 seconds are wake it up.

Warning: Full System Reset deletes all your recordings and planner entries.

Good luck!
