F25

DRIVE MOTOR TACHOMETER ERROR

If the control is unable to properly detect motor speed, the machine shuts down.
If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door unlocks after 3 Minutes.

Possible Causes/Procedure

1. Verify the shipping system including shipping bolts, spacers and the power cord are removed.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check drive motor tachometer resistance. It should be approx. 115 ohms.
4. Check wire harness connections between the drive motor and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU).
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor.
7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations.

I have a Kenmore H2 Plus washing machine. I get an error message that says "F25". What does this mean?

F25 indicates a possible drive motor tachometer error.
Remove
front lower panel-2-3 screws at the very bottom the tech sheet is located in a plastic pouch.

The f25 error code is a motor tachometer error. To determine the problem you will have to remove the top cover and the front access panel. On some models, the rear panel will have to be taken off for easier access to the motor control. Now with the washer-unplugged remove the each plug one at a time and make sure the pins in the connector are not bent then reseat them on the board. Now retest the washer. If the washer still fails, you will need a meter to ohm the motor.

The F25 error code is indicating that the control is unable to detect the motor speed. Causes of the code could be the motor, loose wire connection, failed motor control board or a failed machine control board.

What are F-24 & F-25 codes in a kenmore he 2 plus front load washer?

The F24 error code indicates that the water temperature sensor resistance is out of range. It means the resistance of the sensor is not in the range 1000-35900 ohms for temperature range 96-0 degrees Celsius. Check the resistance of the sensor and the connections to it. Make sure the connections are not shorted or open. Replace the sensor if the connections are good and the sensor resistance is indeed out of range.

The F25 error code indicates that the central control unit is unable to detect the motor speed. Either the motor is not running or restricted, the connection between the motor and the motor control unit is broken/loose, the motor control unit is malfunctioning, the connection between the central control unit and the motor control unit is broken/loose, or the central control unit is faulty. Check the drum and the motor for any restriction. A humming noise can also be heard if the motor is restricted and cannot run. Check the mentioned wire connections but please be advised that electrical and electronic know-how is necessary to perform the troubleshooting safely and accurately.

Code f-25 washer will not stop working and display this. what do i do?

F25 is a Drive Motor Tachometer error. This means that your motor control board isn't detecting your motor moving correctly. If you open the door and spin the tub by hand and it's smooth, you need to order and replace the motor control board to correct th issue unfortunately.

How to fix a code f25 for kenmore elite he5

F25 indicates a possible drive motor tachometer error. (NOTE: The tech sheet is located behind the front quarter panel- remove the three hex head screws at the very bottom to remove the panel. The tech sheets will be folded up in a little plastic pouch.

With the washer unplugged, locate the motor harness. Now unplug the motor connector to ohm the motor. Follow the list below to check the motor.

* Pin 1 to 3 6 ohms
* Pin 1 to2 6 ohms
* Pin 2 to 3 6 ohms
* Pin 4 to5 115 ohms

If the readings are close to what is listed above the motor is fine.

Live voltage checks are dangerous, and possibly deadly. Exercise caution at all times. If you are not comfortable working with live electricity I suggest you call an experienced service technician. I have provided you with a wire diagram with what the voltages should be. If the voltages are correct I would then recommend that you replace the motor control.

I have an error code of F-01 on my Kenmore HE2 Plus washing machine. What does this mean and how do I fix it.

Your washer needs to be serviced by a professional. That error code means there is a communication error between the Control Unit and the EEPROM; the CCU needs to be replaced. Check to see if your product is still under warranty.

Refer to page 2 of this service manual:
