Natural gas patio heater

Pilot flame is coming on, however, once I release the pilot knob and try to turn knob to low or high the flame goes out immediately.. I took the top off and nothing appears to be clogged... Any suggestion? I have the exact same problem. I can get the pilot light lit but when I release the button and try to turn the heater on, the pilot goes out...Please help!!!

It is with the thermocouple or weak pilot. Before you order anything make sure you have a strong blue pilot that is hitting the thermocouple. Next make sure the thermocouple is tight in the valve. Tell me what model the heater is. I stock almost evry thermocouple for all brands. theheaterguys.com

Lighting the pilot, starting the fireplace

Turn on the gas, hold the pilot flame button down and light the pilot flame, continue to hold the button for at least three min's, release the button pilot should stay lighted.

Cannot get gas to flow to pilot flame with main valve parallel to gas pipe. Is there something I must push to make gas flow to the pilot flame pipe?

you said, in effect: Cannot get gas to light the pilot flame even though manual supply valve is open. Is there something I must push to light [ignite] the pilot? Permalink
The gas supply valve is open, and the pilot gas cutoff valve is open but [it seems like] gas will not flow to the pilot flame because it will not light when I supply a match or lighter flame. I remember there is a button or something I need to press...but where it it? I cannot find it.
