How to download my file from my old computer

The simplest way to transfer files from your old to your new computer is by using USB flash drives. Just save your files from the old computer onto the flash drive then plug this USB drive in to the new computer and save the files there. If you have large files, you can also use an external hard drive to copy and transfer files.

I have an IBM net vista with a blue screen memory dump thing going on i dont have os disk and i need the files from this computer imscared and dont know what to do it wont even load my desktop just keeps...

If you have important files on the drive I would suggest removing the drive from the system, placing the drive in an external inclosure (or you could hook it up direct to another desktop as a slave drive) then backup your personal documents.

After confirming that all the documents have been saved I would then format and reinstall the operating system and programs and finally copy all the old files back onto the drive.

Let me know if you have any questions or need specifics.

Dell Dimension 5100 Video Driver update needed

I've seen SB2.exe listed as a virus and I've seen it as a wargame. Can't find out anything as to how it reates to spongebob. As far as putting the driver on a flash drive. Go to support.dell.com. Enter your Service Tag number. Now go to the driver list and select download only. When it asks for location make sure you indicate the flash drive. The download will be a file i.e. Rxxxxxxxx.exe. Now place the flash drive into the Dell, go to the flash drive and click the Dell file. Everything should fine after that. Just as a precaution, I suggest you download AVGFREE.exe, MALWAREBYTES.exe and SUPERANTISPYWARE.exe and run these.

I dont know how to add songs to a folder in my computer

Click on "My Computer", select C drive then File "New Folder" then type in a title for the folder such as "My Music" then when ever you download tell the download site to download to this folder. This will make it so you can easily find your music folders. If you have the music on a Cd then open "My computer" select the drive with the Cd icon by right clicking on it and then selecting "explore" this will give you access to all the music files on the drive. Click on one of the files to select it, as indicated by a solid color change, then hold down the "shift" key on your keyboard and press the "down" arrow to select the rest of the files, then click "edit" "copy" then go back to My Computer and select the "C" drive and highlight the new "My Music" file and then click "edit" and "paste". This is just one method, a harder one in some ways, to copy files from a disc to the hard drive. From here you have the source of all the files for your "you tube slide show"

I want to load information onto the flash drive but I can't get past password, locking/unlocking and partitions.

When you insert it into the pc and the box opens asking what you want to do,just close the box,Then double click on My computer and you will see it listed as a drive,You can double click it and once it open, you can drag and drop anything you want on it or once you know the drive letter assigned to it,you can go to whatever file you want to store on it and just right click the file, click send to,and choose the drive.

Please take time to rate this a fixya

Double click the file you want to move. When the progam opens the document, Choose"Save As" from the File Menu. When the dialog box opens, navigate to you flash drive. Something like (E):Kingston the choose "Save" Now a copy of your file will be on your Kingston Flash drive.
Double check by opening the flash drive and look for the file.

FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT FLASH DRIVES

USB (Universal Serial Bus) flash drives are high-speed, high-capacity memory devices designed for long-term data storage and easy transport among PCs. The host PC treats the device just like a drive, so you can transfer files of all types to and from the device. Because the device emulates a drive, it supports any type of file, including audio files (such as MP3s) and graphics files (such as JPEGs [Joint Photographic Experts Group] and BMPs [bit map]). In addition, USB flash drives can easily support applications, CAD (computer-aided design) drawings, and a wealth of personal information you'd rather not leave on any particular PC. Even so, most USB flash drives are smaller than a pack of gum and can easily fit onto a key ring.

Years ago, users often referred to the practice of using floppies to transport files among PCs as sneakernet. Because USB flash drive manufacturers designed these devices for transport among PCs, their increasing popularity has given rise to a "new sneakernet."

How to transfer data/file to UBS devise

If the USB device is a hard drive or flash drive (a.k.a. thumb drive), when you plug it in you should see its light flash, and Windows should assign it a drive letter. If you open up My Computer, you will probably see the additional drive letter in the list. You should be able to save files to the drive's letter, or drag and drop files onto the drive letter, and the files will transfer to the device.
