GE profile dryer,Runs fine but no heat

need to have the heat element checked with a multimeter and visually if u can and look for burns and corrosion and breaking of the wire connections. Also have the thermostats checked, Im assuming its electric and not gas? the thermal cut off may be bad and the hi-lo thermostat, these can shut heat off from the dryer. Ive replaced the element on my G.E profile and it wasn't all that hard rather simple.

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

GE Dryer Model #DWSR483EB2WW Dryer tumbles,

Does it get hot when you start the dryer, and never gets hot again when its running? The solenoid wire might be opening due to heat, the solenoid is responsible for opening the gas valve, and booster valve. The wire is located in a round plastic sleeve with two electrical contacts sticking out.

I have a Ge dryer (model# DVL223EB4WW) and it runs but doesn't heat up. The breaker is on and I inspected the chord and it is in good shape. What do I do from here?

check to make sure you have 240 volts input to dryer, then check for burned off neutral power wire ,power terminal board,hi-limit switch, thermal switch, heat cycling switch, bad heat element

GE Dryer not producing heat

First, replace the door switch. Second, check the wiring of the new cord. It should be as follows:
Dryers come with a wire or metal strap connecting the center "neutral" terminal to the frame of the dryer. When using a four wire power cord, take that wire or strap off the frame. (it can be discarded or better yet, in case this dryer needs to ever be converted back to a three wire cord) connect the frame end of the wire / strap to the center terminal of the power block. Now, Green (ground) wire goes to the dryer frame, White (neutral) goes to the center terminal, and the Red and Black (both "hot") wires go to either outside terminal. (one to each)
Third, if you still have no heat, make sure there is strong air flow out the vent outside the house when the dryer is running. If all that is good, check for 240 volts to dryer. (dryers can run the motor on 120, but need 240 to heat). Comment back (including model number) if you have further questions.

No heat on my GE prodigy dryer dpxr483

Here you get exploded view, so that you can locate the thermostat. There are two thermostats at the back of the drum, they are numbered 505 and 507 in diagram.

Here is the diagram

To access the thermostats, remove the back panel (see diagram), and undo the belt routing.

GE Dryer Mod DDE8040l heater coils

Check your voltage to the dryer, make sure you have the required 220 volts. If you are only getting 110 volts the dryer would run but not heat. So check the breaker or fuse box first,, then check the plug for proper voltage, then the terminal block to make sure you do not have a wired burned off.. after that it would most likely a high limit thermostat. Good luck. I hope this will fixYa. and dont forget to rate me. Thanks
Mike
